The release strategy of this is actually ridiculous. It's going to be absolutely ancient by the time it's released.

Can't fully get into this, it's good but not as good as the initial impression suggested and You Bring Me Joy is MUCH better. I defintely agree on it being a ridiculous release strategy too, it feels old already and still there's just under 2 months until it's released :manson:

It should have premiered like... next week. I suppose it's got the 'standard' 10 week.

Her album is probably one of the ones I'm most excited for in 2013. I agree that the release strategy for this is ridiculous, but I've not really heard it much on the radio etc. so for the mass public I don't think it'll feel TOO old. I'm hoping it's a success! Great song, not quite as amazing as 'You Bring Me Joy' (which is probably in my top five of 2012)

While YBMJ was catchy as hell and the vocals were brilliant, SU(AGMWYG) just sounds a bit clumsy - especially the middle 8. That part is borderline cringeworthy.

 

After the shock success of 'You Bring Me Joy', I thought Xenomania would've at least played it a tiny bit safe with the second single in terms of catchiness. SU(AGMWYG) is NOT catchy.

I sort of see the problem they're having with this. A big factor in why 'You Bring Me Joy' did so well was big hype over it being her debut single (ala Diana Vickers), if they waited too long to premier the single they'd risk her being forgotten about, if they released it in late November-christmas it would get totally lost in the rush.

 

I suppose the January release is their best hope of getting another top 10 for her, my main concern is if this project goes so tits up that we never get the album because I actually am quite excited about it.

I guess the plan is... play it a bit before Xmas and as the Xmas songs filter out, this filters in? So it's SORT OF on people's minds, but it's not also.

I love it, really hope she can get a 2nd top 10 single but I have a feeling it won't do too well.

I really like the song and if Capital get behind it I think it could do very well. She also looks stunning in the video and I'm excited to hear the rest of the album!

This song better smash! She's far too good to flop. She's found a sound that suits her without having to directly copy someone like Christina Aguilera or Kelly Clarkson etc.. It's having better lasting appeal than YBMJ for me!

I thought she was gonna be an early Kelly Clarkson type but I think she's went down a route that will give her one big hit and that's it. Shame cos she's a quality vocalist, well we will see...

She is, isn't she?! I said this back in August 2011 and I'll say it again now, she reminds me of Christina Aguilera circa 1999.

 

Regarding this song doing a "Twilight", I wouldn't count on it.

 

I can see this doing a "Let It Go" in all honesty - especially if Capital or Radio 1 don't jump on board. 'You Bring Me Joy' could've just been Amelia's 'Elephant' (similar top 3 peak, similar short chart run, similar situation with Radio 1 jumping on board late). I hope I'm wrong though. She has and always had so much potential.
