October 11, 201212 yr Wow, I expected most of Mumford & Sons' entries to drop out this week but some of them have actually climbed and they even have another new entry :o 'I Will Wait' finally back in the top 40 as well! Great week for them. Yay for more new peaks for Ed (wish he'd hurry up into the top 40 though) and Muse + The Script back in the H100 :D
October 11, 201212 yr Author Wow, I expected most of Mumford & Sons' entries to drop out this week but some of them have actually climbed and they even have another new entry :o 'I Will Wait' finally back in the top 40 as well! Great week for them. Radio must have picked up on all the songs.
October 11, 201212 yr When was the last time there were at least three new entries in the top 10? It's rare to see one new entry in the top 10 so three seems even more impressive (even though One Dirction and Taylor Swift will probably drop heavily next week)
October 11, 201212 yr Radio must have picked up on all the songs. I was thinking it's more likely they've picked up more steam on streaming?

It's rare to see one new entry in the top 10 so three seems even more impressive (even though One Dirction and Taylor Swift will probably drop heavily next week) Not that long ago, the week 'Part Of Me' debuted at #1 there were also debuts at #9 ('Starships') and #10 ('Turn Up The Music'). May have even happened again since then but that's the first one that springs to mind. I was thinking it's more likely they've picked up more steam on streaming? This seems the most likely explanation, especially as radio haven't even picked up on the actual SINGLE. Edited October 11, 201212 yr by Bré

October 12, 201212 yr Not that long ago, the week 'Part Of Me' debuted at #1 there were also debuts at #9 ('Starships') and #10 ('Turn Up The Music'). May have even happened again since then but that's the first one that springs to mind. This seems the most likely explanation, especially as radio haven't even picked up on the actual SINGLE. Billboard said the Part Of Me week and this week are the only times it's EVER happened! :o And yes, Mumford & Sons are here still due to streaming. They have 4 songs in the top 10 there. Radio will have to pick up of I Will Wait or Babel now.
October 12, 201212 yr Billboard said the Part Of Me week and this week are the only times it's EVER happened! :o Ooh, I don't remember reading on the week that that was the first time it ever happened - but it's not that surprising really, top 10 debuts are still ridiculously rare and will remain so as long as airplay is part of the chart. First time ever that there's a top 3 of debuts on Digital Songs though which is more surprising! -x- Entirely unrelated but it always bugs me when reading Billboard's reports that they refer to groups as 'it' rather than 'they' (and say stuff like 'its song' instead of 'their song'). October 13, 201212 yr Bubbling Under Hot 100 1 9 2 El Cerrito Place, Kenny Chesney 2 NEW 1 Give Your Heart A Break, Glee Cast 3 18 3 Anything Could Happen, Ellie Goulding 4 6 2 Hopeless Wanderer, Mumford & Sons 5 4 6 I Like Girls That Drink Beer, Toby Keith 6 16 2 Reminder, Mumford & Sons 7 3 2 Below My Feet, Mumford & Sons 8 17 2 Broken Crown, Mumford & Sons 9 12 5 Crying On A Suitcase, Casey James 10 NEW 1 Goodbye In Her Eyes, Zac Brown Band 11 14 17 10,000 Reasons (Bless The Lord), Matt Redman 12 23 9 Ready Or Not, Bridgit Mendler 13 10 2 Remember You, Wiz Khalifa Featuring The Weeknd 14 NEW 1 R.I.P., Rita Ora Featuring Tinie Tempah 15 NEW 1 Mine, Glee Cast 16 NEW 1 Don't Judge Me, Chris Brown 17 21 4 Algo Me Gusta De Ti, Wisin & Yandel Featuring Chris Brown & T-Pain 18 20 6 Chalk Outline, Three Days Grace 19 11 4 Spectrum, Zedd Featuring Matthew Koma 20 24 2 Not With Haste, Mumford & Sons 21 NEW 1 Young & Gettin' It, Meek Mill Featuring Kirko Bangz 22 RE-ENTRY 2 Little Black Submarines, The Black Keys 23 NEW 1 Don't Speak, Glee Cast 24 NEW 1 Oath, Cher Lloyd Featuring Becky G 25 RE-ENTRY 6 Kick It In The Sticks, Brantley Gilbert Woo Ellie, top 100 next week! Good to see appearances from Rita & Cher too.
October 13, 201212 yr It's the first time in the UK charts that we have 2 new entries in the top 10 by UK artists... Plus One Direction scored the highest new entry by a UK artist ever Stateside...
October 13, 201212 yr Hopefully Rita Ora, Ellie Goulding and Cher Lloyd can make the hot 100 each with their follow up singles....
October 13, 201212 yr Woo Ellie, top 100 next week! Good to see appearances from Rita & Cher too. I'm thinking Complete My Album might screw over Ellie next week? I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't show up, anyway.
October 13, 201212 yr 'R.I.P.' finally on bubbling under - it probably has close to zero chance of actually becoming a hit sadly but at least she can claim an airplay-fuelled #114 hit with it. Better than nothing. Wasn't Conor Maynard #1 on bubbling under about 2 weeks ago? And now out of it completely :drama: Edited October 13, 201212 yr by Bré
October 13, 201212 yr I can't remember if he was #1 but he was at least #3. It'll all be for the best though if 'Turn Around' becomes his hit (it does feature Ne-Yo after all, and is generally much better). I don't think "Complete my album" will screw Ellie out of the top 100 next week completely and it's not like 'Halcyon' is selling as much as 'Babel'.
October 13, 201212 yr I don't think "Complete my album" will screw Ellie out of the top 100 next week completely and it's not like 'Halcyon' is selling as much as 'Babel'. And 'Anything Could Happen' is selling far less than 'I Will Wait'. We'll wait and see I guess.
October 13, 201212 yr I hope R.I.P can at least get onto the Hot 100. She should use Shine Ya Light as the 3rd single there.
October 13, 201212 yr The Media have claimed that 'Live While We're Young' is the highest Hot 100 entry ever, by a UK Act. That is wrong. It is the highest entry by a UK Group. Elton John entered at No.1, with 'Candle In The Wind '97', in 1997. The Elton John Hit sold almost 3,500,000 USA copies, in its first 6 days. So, that shows how wrong the other Media claim is - that the One Direction Single, is the fastest selling USA Hit ever, by a non-USA Act. The 1D Hit sold 341,000 in its first Week - and the Elton John Hit sold 10 times that, in its first 6 days.....
