I'd have felt bereft if they'd come back with something like 'You Bring Me Joy'. :drama:

 

'Something New' is better than I had allowed myself to hope a Girls Aloud comeback single could be. I was seriously preparing myself for something watered down, but they've come back confident & very Aloud. Brilliant!

it sounds even better in HQ, urghhhh i think this could be my fave girls aloud song evers.

I love it actually, the only downside, its a bit repetitive towards the end, overall I like it.

I'm so pleased that they uploaded it today instead of ignoring it and having Friday as the big première - I can only see them releasing the music video then now along with any tour/album announcements.

I wish they hadn't stollen the pitch-bent synth that Gaga used on Bad Romance - she stole it from an Human Resource - Dominator

 

 

If it was anyone else I wouldn't listen to it twice. The last two comeback singles were unpredictable. This sounds like an album track to me - never mind a third or fourth single. Poor.

 

It may be a grower though.

Well I absolutely love the new song - it's classic Girls Aloud! Good to have them back. I just wish they weren't releasing this the same day as Olly and 'Troublemaker'. It's like asking me to choose a favourite child!

With the right promotion I think the track will do well, Kimberley on Strictly Dancing its bound to get a group performance at some point, plus Children In Need week, hopefully a performance on Strictly D the day after CIN. That's if Kimberley does not get voted out before than.

Does anybody else think the song sounds influenced by Nicola's solo project? I don't think it's directly comparable to BOMD or anything, but it just sounds like it would fit in with her album.

Oh definitely! But it is a quirky pop song and that's what Cinderella's Eyes was supposed to be about.

Disappointing. The only thing that saves it is the chorus. It doesn't even sound like Girls Aloud and wtf at that awful "we girls gonna run this" line. No identity.

I was a little disappointed when I heard the song today. Its not as good as some of their other stuff yet it sounds similar to their other stuff.

Also, for some strange reason when they sing "All I want is something new..." I want to sing "Something borrowed, something blue" as the next line :lol:
