Is live pop bars a reliable source to see how the single is doing?? If it is how the hell are those bloody awful singles from Alica Keys and Bruno Mars ahead of this??

Down to number 8 now, i just hop eit can steady up for the remainder of the week, i would hate this to miss the top 3.

I think this can hold steady at #2 due to the big sales gap, but the chart run is going to be absolutely shocking. :(

I imagine 'Beautiful 'Cause You Love Me' will become by far their worst performing single ever now too.

Ya im holding hope that they had big sales last sunday which will help them nail that top 3 position or hopefully top 2. I also hope it doesnt completly plummet next week.

Remember, The Wanted's 'I Found You' dipped as low as #10 on iTunes in its first week. It still managed to peak at #3 on the Sunday.

I think Girls Aloud's initial lead is sufficient enough for them to remain Top 3.

I'm not surprised. They should be ashamed they haven't kept up the promotion this week really. (All the stans have killed me for saying that on Twitter.)

It seems like they've approached the Saturdays method of promotion and it's doing exactly the same for the Aloud as it did for the Sats!

Judging by the rolling day 7-day airplay chart, they may climb into the Top 10 on radio this Sunday. Currently #10. http://www.ukairplaychart.com/uk/rolling_week/

It's #6 on the airplay chart.

Do not use this link you used. I've heard it's not the official airplay chart. I do remember using it to see where The Saturdays were airplay wise and it never showed me the actual position. I suppose it doesn't count only plays? However, it's not good.

This one is right : http://www.charly1300.com/ukairplay.htm

^ Charly's chart isn't official either!

The above link I posted is indeed unofficial, but it usually mirrors the official Nielsen radio chart, more or less. Nielsen is the one that the OCC recognises.

And what should have they done? they performed in the biggest shows except XFactor. Olly wouldn't even need a performance on X Factor to win this easily.

The thing is... this comeback does seem a little half-arsed.

The comeback is half-arsed or the public just doesn't care enough? I think it's more the second thing than the first.

Half-arsed in what sense?

At the end of the day, if the album ends up not selling well, we can blame the label/marketing team.

I mean, it's not like launching a new band. With GA, they have AMAZING material to work with : a band with many many and a wide popularity appeal.

If their label can't sell hundreds of thousands with that, then they haven't done their job or they have done something wrong.

Or the girls went away for too long and people lost interest in them as a band over that time.
Well they sort of just got back together, like there wasn't REALLY that much hype. This era just seems like a continuation of Cheryl's era and not an era on it's own. Have they even done a sit down (NON RADIO) interview? I mean no-one really listens to radio anymore.

Err, the one on Breakfast like last week?

"half arsed" comeback? WHAT? Their comeback announcement was one of the highest talking points in music at one point. News reports and everythign getting onto it. 'Something New' is not flopping, underperforming? Arguably. But (UK chart king - arguably the biggest active star in the UK at the moment) Olly did so much better than everyone thought he would and proved tougher competition for the girls. Had they pushed the release forward a week or moved it back to this week, it would have smashed and got the number 1 everyone was predicting/wanting it to be.

Yeah they had two major performances, but although Strictly gets more viewers than XF, people watch that show for the dancing as opposed to what song is being performed or whatever. CiN, they didn't have it released when that performance was shown, so who knows. Those two shows together is probably equivalent to the exposure of one X Factor performance. Pretty sure Olly has also worked hard this week and promoted elsewhere.

Also imo, the song isn't as ground breaking as everyone once made it out to be. It was definitely over hyped, imo. (Not only on here but by radio and other forums etc..).

I mean "The Promise" opened with 77,110 in it's first week, so I kindah expected them to get similar figures or more. There is no hype whatsoever about their reunion.

Great one Breakfast interview, where's the actual promotion? Talk show TV... Alan Carr, Graham Norton.
