If they call it a day after Ten, I wonder what's going to happen to their contract. As far as I remember they're contracted for 3 albums with Ten being one of them, do you think they'll release a Remix / Live / B-Sides album to fulfill it?

As far as I'm aware it doesn't matter what the contract says if they split. Only if they continue to record as a "group" and use that name then the contract stands but if they call it a day and don't record anything else then the contract doesn't stand as that is between the record label and "Girls Aloud" the entity, if that makes any sense.

I go through phases with it. One day I love it and find it simple and beautiful, another day I'll find it dull and boring. That said, it's probably my favourite of their ballad singles (I wouldn't consider any of the singles after to be ballads as such...)

OH you see "See The Day" is my favourite Girls Aloud ballad (even though it's not really theirs).

But I'm obsessed with the outro of "Whole Lotta History".

See The Day has to be my least favourite GA single, it just lacks something. WLH is my second favourite though. Nicola's verse and Sarah's outro
It would have been nice if they all put one solo song on the greatest hits, kinda tie up the full 10 years.

They can keep their solo stuff well away from the reunion! If I even get a whiff of 'Fight For This Love' at the tour I'll cut a bitch.

And if we're talking about the best GA ballad, then 'Life Got Cold' says hi.

"Whole Lotta History" has really clicked with me. 7 years later.

"No Good Advice" for me, but it's been even longer!

"I'll Stand By You" is my favourite ballad of theirs, but "Life Got Cold" is also growing on me - I don't actually remember it from when it was released, I just remember it being on a Now! album.

I'm desperate to hear the other 3 new songs!

Me too - I'm definitely going to wait until I have the CD in my hands (like with Out of Control though). The title of "On the Metro" makes me laugh every time though, especially reading it in Cheryl's/a Geordie accent

Just reading back through the Popstars: The Rivals Wiki article, I can't believe Kimberley was in the bottom three/four every week of the live shows of Popstars, yet still made it through to be in GA, whilst Javine fell at the last hurdle despite being safe on every other week. Surprising that Cheryl ended up in the bottom few a couple of times too! Yet Nicola and Nadine made it through safely every week! If that pregnant 25 (at the time) year old woman Hazel had gone further and made it through to the band, I seriously doubt they'd have had that much staying power, as she'd be 35 by now. Javine being in the band certainly wouldn't have given them much longevity either, she'd have ditched them for a solo career very quickly!
Javine would have walked after the the third album at the latest especially basing on the success the Girls achieved so it was the best thing ever she didnt make it into the band. While at the time i disagreed with some of the choices, ultimatly the right 5 people were picked, the band worked and they are still on the go so that speaks for itself.
I have a Popstars: The Rivals book somewhere... so cute looking at how much they've all changed. Nicola especially, baby face. :)
Well in my view their best ballads are all album tracks or b-sides like 100 Different Ways, Loving Is Easy and Nobody But You. I've never hated See The Day as a song, but as a single choice obviously the worst idea ever.

Lyric from "On the Metro", posted on their Twitter :D

Left my heart at the disco, now i'm crying on the metro

I'm clearly going to love 'On The Metro' not that I don't love every Girls Aloud song.

On another note its the Radio Mix of Untouchable on the album, bleugh. The Original is epic.

Oh no! :( I'd accept the album version edit (without the autotune), but otherwise they're completely different songs! :( I assume they'll be using radio edits of "The Promise" et al too :(

Considering the radio edits are the most famous versions of the songs, I don't think it should come as a shock to anybody that those will be the ones included on their Greatest Hits.
