Posted October 22, 201212 yr http://imageshack.us/a/img259/7798/bannergsl.png Good day to you, Buzzjackers. Finally after, literally, minutes of calculations, checking and re-checking, the results have been prepared and will be presented on Tuesday 23rd Oct - that's tomorrow, for those who part take in a spot of light time-travel of a morning and have misplaced your bearings . 22 of you voted for 335 albums by 270 different artists. The Top 50 have a distribution in the following manner 2000 2 2001 2 2002 2 2003 1 2004 0 :o 2005 5 2006 4 2007 3 2008 7 2009 6 2010 9 2011 6 2012 3 There are frequent surprises. Some of the biggest bands of the century are shockingly absent. And, this being Buzzjack, many a female artiste has outperformed her male counterpart. The average points awarded to any album was 27. The Top band pulled in 3.2% of all votes (302), Top female, 2.36% (218) and Top Male 1.58% (146.) So...until tomorrow at 8pm, I bid you farewell. _____________________________________________ And just to give you something to talk about.... October 22, 201212 yr Mhm, wonder if any of my favorites will feature in this. Surprised to see so many coming from 2010, that was not a fantastic year in my memory (2011 was alot better!) As for the toppers of the genres, I really have no idea.
October 22, 201212 yr Kanye will presumably be the highest hip-hop act, I'm guessing with Dark Twisted Fantasy although in many polls College Dropout or Late Registration would push it close. Surprised at there being nothing from 2004, I always think of it as a vintage year. It also means my #1 hasn't qualified but I guessed that anyway with looking at anyone else's list in great detail.
October 22, 201212 yr I didn't get around to doing this did I? :( I do hope Sufjan doesn't lose out too much as a result.
October 22, 201212 yr Wasn't Funeral released in 2004?! Surely that should in the running for the win even! (and no DFA1979 either :( )
October 22, 201212 yr OH SHIT FUNERAL, I knew something from 2004 was a glaring omission. What happened?
October 22, 201212 yr I was actually gonna mention that I thought that was a contender to win (considering it came so far in that all-time favorite album thing) but then I realised it wasn't even included..
October 22, 201212 yr http://imageshack.us/a/img259/7798/bannergsl.png  Who do you think you are, Deadmau5? Surely "Funeral" had made the Top 50, it was my number 3. :( Anyway, can't wait for the results.
October 22, 201212 yr Surprised 2004 has nothing in it when it pretty much kickstarted the rebirth of indie/alternative music in the chart, though I guess it's not really aged THAT well and it's hardly 'BJ alternative forum' type alt.
