I braved the mobs in my town centre to go buy this. Worth it tbh.

 I was actually expecting someone would use this GIF. Priceless moment of that Britney Blowout!

That is iTunes only, and we all know how much iTunes sells albums.

I think I overreacted a bit but still, it doesn't change the fact that this is FLOP in Bionic level and that is never a good thing.

How can you say that when Xtina promoted and performed her ass off, where as all Britney is doing small interviews and not one single performance. Not to mention, "Bionic" was Xtina's first studio album since the massive "Back to Basics" which was released 4 years before, so it was sort of like her comeback. "Britney Jean" is nowhere near doing as bad is "Bionic" did.

In fact they are wrong. Bionic got to #1 whereas this should chart somewhere between 30-40 :kink:

Now I've had time to let this sink in and listen to the other bonus tracks:

08 Alien

08 Work Bitch

09 Perfume

07 It Should Be Easy (feat. will.i.am) (too much hate for it)

10 Tik Tik Boom (feat. T.I.)

09 Body Ache

10 Til It's Gone

10 Passenger

08 Chillin' With You (feat. Jamie Lynn)

06 Don't Cry (The one dud in an otherwise amazing album)

07 Brightest Morning Star

08 Hold On Tight

100 Now That I Found You

08 Perfume (Draming Mix)

It then dropped like a stone after.

I don't know how you can say this is doing better than Bionic, which got to #1 and this will scrape the top 40 (and probably chart lower in America too). It's probably about comparable with Lotus.

I think really though acts like her, Christina, J-Lo etc are very much last generation's popstars now and a lot can change in a few short years these days. Such a shame as I genuinely believe this is by far and away her best album ever.

I'm talking about US charts. "Bionic" sold 110k in its first week with major promo and performances, "Britney Jean" is predicted 120k with hardly any promo. ^_^

As for the UK chart position, that really is awful, lets hope that album sales were just high. B-)

Oh dear. It's obviously sad to see one of your favourites debut so low and not do so well, but I'm really not as bothered as I should be aha. As I said earlier in the thread, I think I'm just happy I got me some new BritBrit! <3 (and a more personal Britney at that!)

I was never a big fan or Britney and always sort of saw her as a hopeless car crash of a pop star but I have to say after listening to this album, I think I've fallen in love with her, this is by far and away her best album by some length, and I personally see the personal side of the album, it's such a huge shame that it's UK chart performance has been disasterous!

My personal rating for the album would be:

•Alien - 11/10

•Work Bitch - 8.5/10 (after originally hating the song).

•Perfume - 8/10 (but it's only just suddenly clicked).

•It Should Be Easy - 9.5/10

•Tik Tik Boom - 9/10

•Body Ache - 10/10

•Till It's Gone - 9.5/10

•Passenger - 10/10

•Chillin' With You - 5/10 (let's the album down IMO, maybe it'll grow).

•Don't Cry - 7/10 (slightly bland but quite nice).

•Brightest Morning Star - 7.5/10

•Hold On Tight - 6.5/10 (alright, but quite forgettable).

•Now That I've Found You - 10/10 (WAY TOO GOOD to be on the deluxe, such an Avicii-esquire great banger).

It's Criminal (excuse the pun haha), that this album has performed so badly, if she sees sense thn maybe she'll release Alien, Body Ache, It Should Be Easy and Passenger next, well done Britney!

Britney Spears, who served alongside Simon Cowell on the panel of The US version of The X Factor has made the Top 15 with each of the seven studio albums she issued between 1999 and 2011, but pulls up well short with eighth, Britney Jean, which debuts this week at number 34 (12,959 sales). First single Work B**ch! became Spears' 23rd Top 10 single only last month but did so primarily because it was held back for several weeks, allowing pre-release orders to build. It performed very poorly once that week was over however, falling 7-37-66-97. It enjoys a modest recovery this week, bouncing to number 77 (3,525 sales).

That's enough to debut top 10 in most other weeks this year. That's a shame. :(

Need to wait for official Billboard numbers from Soundscan, but HDD have her at #5:

Oh dear, so close to #2 though.

Soundscan numbers may put it higher so lets wait and see.

I'm certain if this was released in spring it would've charted top 10 (in the UK), as most of her sales are from digital purchases.
