December 6, 201212 yr Gonna put it out there and say it's the best original charity song since 'Perfect Day'.
December 6, 201212 yr Gonna put it out there and say it's the best original charity song since 'Perfect Day'. 'Original'?
December 6, 201212 yr As in an original composition, as I'd say 'Amarillo' was better given the whole concept but it was an old song re-released.
December 6, 201212 yr As in an original composition, as I'd say 'Amarillo' was better given the whole concept but it was an old song re-released. But it's not an original composition, it's a cover (as was "Perfect Day" of course)
December 6, 201212 yr But it's not an original composition, it's a cover (as was "Perfect Day" of course) Oh you know what I mean. It was the first release of that version of the song.
December 6, 201212 yr No, I'm still not really sure what you mean at all. Are you referring to the original of "He Ain't Heavy He's My Brother" from the 60s?
December 6, 201212 yr I agree with RFC, the Various Artists 'Perfect Day' from 1997 was an excellent version of an old track. The additon of all those musicians (rather than D-list popstars) being included made the track all the more awe inspring. The instrumental part led by Courtney Pine (soprano saxophone player) is one of the most spine tinglingly great pieces of music I've ever heard. Not heard this new version of 'He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother' so intrigued by this. Will YouTube the video later on.
December 6, 201212 yr No, I'm still not really sure what you mean at all. Are you referring to the original of "He Ain't Heavy He's My Brother" from the 60s? No, the only other charity single since 'Perfect Day' I've liked more was 'Amarillo' but that was exactly the same song, just re-released with the gimmick elsewhere. Both 'Perfect Day' and 'He Ain't Heavy...' are new compositions of old songs, so it's the best 'original' (i.e. not a re-release of an old song) charity track since PD.
December 6, 201212 yr It was confusing wording, seeing as Amarillo was the ORIGINAL recording of an ORIGINAL song. Edited December 6, 201212 yr by -SCOTT-
