April 29, 201411 yr THANK GOD John Williams is back. I could not cope with a Michael Giacchino soundtrack to this.

April 29, 201411 yr Adam Driver was expected, a few intriguing additions there though. Apparently there's little chance of the stories taking any cues from the Expanded Universe, so that (presumably) means no offspring.
April 30, 201411 yr Yeah it's been declared NON CANNON, which is a shame as a lot of it was very interesting.
April 30, 201411 yr Yeah it's been declared NON CANNON, which is a shame as a lot of it was very interesting. *CANON though I suppose it's not in a cannon either tbf to you intrigued by max von sydow, I hope it's a flash gordon-type affair!! on a serious note the gender ratio is seriously disappointing, and everyone going 'oh there's still one more female character to be announced so sit your ass down' is missing the point.
April 30, 201411 yr Oops, it's not a phrase I oft use. Anyway, I too am excited for MAX. I can only imagine he is going to be playing the antagonist and with the previous post VI stuff being written out it's got me very intruiged. I would have loved to have seen him take on one of the many, many, evil Imperial General roles, but alas that won't be happening now. I just hope they have Palpatine back in some form, but I suspect they won't as the feeble minded among the general public might not understand such things.
April 30, 201411 yr I'm intrigued with Max Von Sydow, must be the villain of the piece, so I be intrigued how he fits in, never been a fan of Star Wars though, but I did watch the first 3 movies when I was a kid, the second batch was not my thing at all. Hope JJ Abrams puts his stamp on the last 3. Unfortunately JJ Abrams is no longer with Star Trek for the 50th Anniversary as a director which is to be released August/September 2016, Robert Orci has replaced him, no script yet for the next Trek movie.
April 30, 201411 yr I am PRAISING BARANSKI that he sin't with Star Trek anymore. Gives me hope we might get a better film out of it, especially one fitting of such an occasion. The 25th anniversary film (Star Trek VI) was so perfect and befitting the legacy at that point that I don't feel he would do it justice in any meaningful way. I'm basically hoping for a Doctor Who-esque and Bond-esque 50th, whereby they make as many nods to the past as they can whilst still focusing on the future/new direction.
April 30, 201411 yr As much as it's a shame they've chucked the expanded universe, it really was about time as the stories went off the boil a while ago. I bet elements are still kept though. Daisy look say the spit of Natalie Portman so I expect her to be playing Han and Leia's daughter.
May 1, 201411 yr I, too, am annoyed by the gender ratio. 2 female characters out of 13 announced cast members is pathetic. And I want fierce light-saber wielding ladies, not soppy Natalie Portman types who are basically just a device to help with the leading man's character. It's not difficult to make it slightly more of a level playing field in Blockbusters, Captain America 2 managed fine, and look how successful and critically acclaimed that was?! Edited May 1, 201411 yr by Joe‽assmore
May 4, 201411 yr I'd rather any male or female characters be included because they're needed for a good story rather than filling a gender quota.
November 24, 201410 yr Title now revealed as 'The Force Awakens' - not the most imaginative of titles, but it fits fine really - and the trailer will be getting it's first play across 'selected theatres' (in the US only for the moment) this coming Friday, and will begin playing worldwide on Monday! I didn't realise it was out so soon - 18th December 2015, a little over a year away for the US at least! Edited November 24, 201410 yr by Chez Wombat
November 28, 201410 yr Well that gives away precisely nothing, but OMGYAYETC Loving the cross shaped sith lightsaber *.* Not loving that action flight shot of the Millennium falcon, that's the kind of nonsense that annoys me so much about JJ's movies (mainly Star Trek, natch, but I don't want to bring that up again)
November 28, 201410 yr Loving it. I want to go into this one with very few spoilers which shall be a challenge in this day and age. Daisy Ridley is the spit of Natalie Portman
November 28, 201410 yr Well, that doesn't give a whole lot away obvs, but YAY for a glimpse of it arriving already *.* Predictably most of the comment on Youtube and the standard 'I LOVE THE ORIGINALS AND I'M NOT GONNA EVEN SEE THIS BEFORE DECIDING IT'S SHIT' idiots and it's only just premiered, sigh :/
