Let's get one thing straight. Trump will never win the US election. It's literally impossible. We will come back to that. Second of all, over 80% of the US population has an unfavorable view of both candidates. To the point the libertarian party is becoming a seriously viewed threat to both republicans and democrats. In early polls Gary Johnson has a 22% vote, Hillary with 42% and Trump with 36%. The most the libertarian party, or any third party has received in the last 50 years is 9%. And f***ing thank God! Yeah, Gary Johnson probably won't win, but, hopefully it is a wake up call to our political system and our population. GET INVOLVED WITH POLITICS AND SHIT LIKE THIS WON'T HAPPEN. The past 30 years of the US government has been a complete joke. Besides Obama... and Bill Clinton to an extent. We have a system built on going forward 10 steps and going back 9. Things never truly get better. We just have Ellem Degeneres to crack a funny joke to remind us how quickly our country has become a complete joke. I knew people injured in that Orlando shooting. I took my grandparents to a fireworks show on the Fourth of July and there was a shooting! No one was injured by bullets but, the hysteria caused my Parkinson's riddled grandparents to nearly be trampled by brutally reprimanded crowds of terrified people.

 

Why even care who becomes the president when your votes don't even count? This country is at war with itself and even though I don't really LIKE Hillary, how could you EVER vote for Trump? The things she is being chastised for by the Republicans, are things the republicans have been doing for DECADES. Does that excuse them? No. But, why did you defend the same act when the Bush's did it? Also, our party system needs to just START OVER.

Yes, money may be a little bit more important in the actual Presidential race, but Trump should still be able to generate the publicity without the money behind him as he's proven he can do in the past.

 

And if Hilary continues to outspend Trump's campaign, then it wouldn't surprise me if he spun the story to turn it against her, ie Hilary can't win without throwing trillions of dollars attacking me, we don't need to spend lots of money to make America Great Again, etc.

Money doesn't just go on ads, and the difference will be that the two candidates will probably get equal news coverage in a way that the other Republican candidates didn't in the primaries.

I don't think the debates will do much. This election season has been among the most polarised and polarising ever. The candidates at this point are so well known and established that there isn't really anything 'new' to discover from a debate or big television appearance.

If Gary Johnson is polling as well as Tyler is saying in the runup, it might benefit him if he's invited (would they do that? I can't remember anything about the last debates) even if, debates or not, he probably won't make any headway as I expect on the day lots of those saying they'll vote for him now will stick to 2-party politics to keep the one of Clinton or Trump they're more scared of out, more's the pity.

 

But yeah, the whole world, let alone America, has had enough information about Clinton and Trump to fill them for the next 4 years. Only thing I can see the debates doing is reinforcing the fact that the election is getting closer and it's now a real choice between these two to be America's representative to the world.

Not that I can talk, the amount of spelling/grammatical errors I've made on this site could fill War & Peace.

In other news, Wikileaks has leaked nearly 20,000 emails in relation to the Democratic campaign over the past few months, which have shown that members of the party attempted to derail Bernie Sanders' campaign in favour of Hilary. Expect this story to be rather embarrassing for the Party during their convention, especially given the drip-release of information that's coming out slowly as the media starts to dig through the collection.

 

I'm guessing that there's some personal political reason why Wikileaks is targeting the Democrats, and Hilary in particular - Hilary I believe was highly embarrassed by the cable leaks a few years ago, and is believed to have wanted their public face, the alleged rapist Julian Assange, to be extradited to America to face charges of treason, and the release of these emails is his revenge for that.

He has promised that violent crime against Americans will end - completely - after 20 January if he is elected. You can't accuse him of a lack of ambition :P

 

Of course, that leaves him with two choices if he is elected. He could demonstrably break a promise within minutes of his inauguration, i.e.when the first violent crime under his presidency is committed. Alternatively, he could order the instant extermination of all Americans (including himself), thereby ensuring that they can't be victims of crime. Apart, of course, from the little matter of the biggest act of genocide in history as ordered by Donald J Trump.
