Second single off 'Evolution' out 23rd December. Video coming shortly which they shot week before last. Also (I believe) are meant to be announcing their next tour dates later on today!

I like 'Give Me Life' but it's not my absolute favourite off the album. 'Hold Me Down' on the other hand absolutely desperately needs to be a single. It's so strong, their strongest sounding potential single!

Bit of a risky time to be releasing a new single as it could get totally lost in the Christmas madness although I guess their reason for releasing at the end of December is to keep the fact they have an album out in people's mind and they will be aiming to appeal to the iTunes Christmas gift market - Really hope this does well for them but would not be totally surprised if this becomes their lowest charting single.

My only worry is that it didn't work releasing 'Do You Feel What I Feel?' in that awkward time between the Christmas rush/post-iTunes gift card slump last year. I don't know. Hopefully it's one of those single choices that make more sense once you've seen the video (at least that's what I hope!)

I can't really see the single doing much either tbh, I can see it peaking between 16-25. I just think Jls are slowly turning into the new Westlife. I think if they want to increase themselves, they need to release around 4-5 singles from this album. It would be awful if this album failed to pass 300,000.

It's a shame how much Cheryl, Jls & Leona Lewis have underperformed this year.

Maybe by previous chart positions yes but I still don't see how 'Evolution' getting into the top 3 is shabby. I imagine the plan will be for them to release some more singles during and after their tour next year. It would certainly be a crying shame if 'Hold Me Down' and 'Have Your Way' weren't singles!

Remixes promo cover - the single is gonna come backed with remixes by The Alias (aka Jewels & Stone - LOVE those guys), Sticky and Nathan C.

They seem to have a different stratagey with this album; not the 2 singles then release a third as before.

This time 1 promo single, album out then 2nd single, with probably more to follow next year.

TBH, yes Evolution hasn;t sold as well as the previous albums (so far), however I think its good that this new song will be around in the run up to Christmas and is probably their angle.

Its not been a great year for general british pop acts this year, in the last few months loads of acts have underperformed; The Wanted for instance are doing worse than JLS with IFY, StooShe bombed with Waterfalls too. It seems music is shifting again away from the bubblegum pop that came back more en vogue when JLS became big with Beat Again.

Yeah, Leona seems to get less and less popular with every era.

Cheryl seems to always release 'softer' songs, I think Sexy Den a Mutha should have been relased, it was one of the best songs on the album.

Just been announced today that JB's taking part in the Christmas special of Strictly Come Dancing...wonder who he'll be partnered with?

Aren't they releasing a cover of "Run"?!

Nope. Daily Mail got it wrong they were filming for their Christmas special that's gonna be on Sky1 next month. They didn't even cover Run! Although they did sing a cover of 'Stay Another Day' for it...now this I can't WAIT for!

The single's now thankfully been made a double-a-side with 'Hold Me Down' as the lead single...thank God is all I can say! Should have been the single in the first place. They're performing it for the first time on Strictly Come Dancing results show tomorrow :)

Very interested to see how a double a-side will work, presumably if Hold Me Down (just for example) gets cherry picked now it would still chart on the top 40 as 'Give Me Life / Hold Me Down' if it does I think they'll be fine, the songs are quite different. Hold Me Down is their best song since Beat Again imo, I may even prefer it. hope it does well for them.

I imagine their Christmas special that's gonna be on Sky1 soon (where they performed 'Hold Me Down') and also their appearance on Gary Barlow's New Year special will elevate this to another top 20 at least :)

It's looking likely that this may be their first song to not peak top 20!

Oh, performing on Strictly Come Dancing! xFactor will not take this lightly...

I think HYD will do relatively ok - the performance has bossted it from 1200 to the top 300 + if they release the video/ gain radio play soon sales should pick up alot more.

Releasing 2 songs (hopefully with 2 videos etc) should help the album a fair bit

DEATHLY dull performance on Strictly. I've not heard the studio version of the song but it sounded boring as hell there. They're over.

The first guy (Marvin?) sounded really bad there and like Jark said it was a boring performance, I thought they were just standing there because the pro's were going to come on and dance around them like what normally happens on SCD, but they didn't. Shame it's their best song for me, but the live performance almost put me off.
