Hello and welcome to the eleventh and last* edition of Unknown Pleasures - which due to defending champion Dandz* being double booked this month (he's just that good at this), is brought to you by myself. Now as soon as I post this I expect the regulars to be on the ball and get on with sending me new hot gems to compete in the competition without reading the thread, pfft. If you are new to this or want a refresher course of the rules (and who wouldn't, right?), read on and find out how to take part...

01. There is no rule with regard to genre or length of track - anything that calls itself music may be submitted, as long as it fulfils the other criteria.

02. The artist or band involved must not have reached the top 40 singles chart in the UK.

03. The artist or band involved must not have reached the top 20 albums chart in the UK

04. The song must not be on the current UK release schedule.

05. I reserve the right to refuse any entry I feel does not fit within the spirit of the competition.

06. Please do not at any point throughout the competition reveal what song you have sent, before I do so to all in the results.

07. Send your PMs to me like this:

I would ask that you do send me an MP3, you do not have to send it straight away with your confirmation if you're that desperate but as long as it comes to me before I set up the voting thread you'll be fine. It should ideally be 256kbps or 320kbps as 128 or less will likely do crap. If I do not get an MP3 from you, you run the risk of having to settle for a Youtube rip, which will probably harm your chances a lot, so do your best to find something.

08. You may not send any song which has been sent previously. Compare with this list.

09. Two songs by the same artist will not be allowed to participate in the contest simultaneously, and no artists entered in the last contest may be entered this time.

10. Confirmations will stop when a number in the region of 30-33 participants is reached. Regardless, the deadline for entries is 7pm, Sunday 18 November and the voting thread will be set up shortly after that.

11. No mocking of my art skills plz. I know I can't make it as pretty as Leww or Pavel would but I'm doing my best here. Yep, that's a rule.

 

If your entry is rejected for any reason I will be in contact to ask you to change. Changes of your own will are allowed a couple of times but no more really.

It's ridiculous how unprepared I am for this.

Well this is UNEXPECTED. Better get scouring the internet ~

I'm not all that prepared either. In terms of entry at least, I have something but I may change it.

 

(starting it at a random time because I'm just that eager to get this on the road and not because I need to concentrate on finishing my essay now aww)

I've deliberated avoided entering a different track in the hope that no-one else has discovered it, as it's basically guaranteed top 5 in BJSC (and to some extent here, I suppose). Its YT views are going all over the place so I suppose it's only a matter of time. </3

 

I was gonna say something about my own submission here, but then I realised you can't do that. Oops.

I've sent something I have ZERO, nay less then zero, confidence in, but I love it and it would be a megaflop in BJSC so this shall be it's chance to SHINE (with all the power of a candle 5000 miles away).

I've found a track I really like today which I'll probably send, its a lot more poppy than The Neighbourhood, so hopefully will appeal to the more poppy fans as well. I can't see me quite mustering up a second top 10 finish with this one though.
