Well, she is working on her second album, and as far as I am aware this single will not be a part of that project. It is a one off song written by Diane Warren and is the soundtrack to the film 'Silver Lining'. The music video has just been released, and personally, as the biggest Jessie fan on this site, I am really not very fond of it and find it slightly dull, however they do seem to be pushing it as a single. All I hope is that it doesn't end up actually making the new album.

It grows throughout the song and would grow upon further listens but the hook isn't overly strong and it is a tad dull.

Really wanting to see the movie though.

I think it's a really good song, good work Jessie!
I actually really like it too! It's a nice, little soundtrack song. It's not a great single choice, but I don't think it's going to be a single, no matter how they're pushing for it. I just think it's easier for them to push a song, for the movie as opposed to pushing for the movie as a whole. If people like the song and hear it's taken from that film etc., they might be more inclined to go see the film for example. That's all it's being pushed for (and with it obviously being a Jessie J track it's gonna get some UK stations gagging to play it etc., just like what happened to Adele and 'Skyfall' (obviously on a much lesser scale ))
This wasn't the version they used in the film! The "new" version seemed a lot more up beat and faster tempo (similar retro-y sound that Jessie usually does - 'Mama Knows Best' etc..) it was really good actually! Kinda wanna hear that version in full now I know it'll be available somewhere!
A smart move, it keeps Jessie's name out there... sort of like Taylor Swift, who drops her album, re-release then a movie single then her new album, the artist takes a break, but only sort of. ;)

I didn't know where to post this, but Jessie J just revealed on the BRITS Red Carpet programme that there is a song called 'Strip' on her new album. Didn't mention any other song titles but said she's still working hard on it!
She should be heading to New York soon to finish it. My suggestion is the album will be out by July.
Nah. I can't see that. First single, maybe but the album will get a pimp slot release, for The X Factor. Unless she "does a Katy Perry" this era. Releases album and singles simultaneously in July and then gets a power anthem out for the X Factor to sell the album etc...

She won't be allowed on XF as a The Voice coach surely? I'm expecting first single will be out during The Voice (so before June) since that's when she's most exposed. Album and 2nd single will probably be later in the Summer.

Simon Cowell stated last year his friendship with Jessie was over, so no chance!

:o

Why? What happened?

Why? What happened?

She turned down his offer of X Factor judge and chose to be a coach on rivalling show The Voice!

She should have gone to X Factor.

I disagree. SHE BELONGS ON THE VOICE WHERE NO ONE WILL WATCH HER.

Well the tour that kicks off in September is to tour the new album, so it is most certainly coming out in summer, she has said countless times she wants it out before any festival performances during the Summer, so I am seeing June at the latest.

Ahhhh. Ok. Didn't realise Simon had "fallen out" with her. That's a bit petty, tbh. But I do think she'll be just as big as she was with her debut era. I can't see her "doing a Pixie Lott" or anything, despite most people on here not liking her. I do think she'll be somewhere in between the UK equivalent of Katy Perry 2nd era and her debut era. I dunno. I'm just getting strong vibes from it.
Katy Perry style era? :o I'm not so sure! She'll have a good era though but I want this to be her big worldwide era too!
I think she'll go through a decline. Certainly not a Pixie Lott type thing but I think she's very much the type of act that can't afford to take too long out, and by the time this era starts it will have been well over a year since Laserlight. The likes of Rita Ora have filled the "commercial British female" niche that she took over from Pixie so I just don't think people will care as much this time round. Still, a very comfortable Platinum album and at least one big hit for sure. Just not quite as big as her first album.
