So a few months ago Pixie revealed that she was going to begin recording her third studio album and will have a strong Motown influence.

Pixie Lott has revealed plans to record a Motown album.

 

The singer said that work on her third studio record will begin soon and that she plans to fly to America to work with top Motown producers.

 

"I'm going to be heading to New York to work with the guys who did the original Motown records in the '60s to make a new album soon," Lott told the Daily Star.

 

The new collection will serve as the follow-up to Lott's 2011 record Young Foolish Happy, which reached number 18 on the UK chart.

This will definitely be the make or break album for her so this attempt at Motown better be good.

Really excited for a new Pixie album, I think I was the only person who loved Young Foolish Happy. :P

I really liked it! It admittedly had what seemed like infinite filler but if you take the deluxe edition and cut the fat you get a perfectly competent 12 track album.

Actually looking forward to this :D

I also liked YFH but it has not aged well, she needs a more solid 3rd album.

Nevermind being strongly influenced by motown, she needs to be strongly influenced by HITS! Another flop and she's in trouble.

After a proper and true sophomore slump a niche concept album is just what she needs. Pixie does Mowtown.

If she releases something as good as What Do You Take Me For, I'll respect her properly as a musician and an artist.

She needs to do a duet with a bigger artist like Olly Murs to ensure a hit then release her album. We've seen alot of female artists flopping on the back of releasing albums after a weak single. So she should release her strongest song, then a duet then the album.

To be fair, Young Foolish & Happy was AWFUL.

 

The only songs that I liked were All About Tonight, What Do You Take Me For & Kiss The Stars, which ironically were singles.

The video for What Do You Take Me For was TERRIFIC.

I really can't see this doing well to be honest. She need's to stick to good pop music. All about tonight was a great song but the problem was it was followed by a poor 2nd single which launched on the back of the album.

I think both of her albums have been terrible, although the second one being the worst. She's just been lucky with good single choices mostly.

Turn It Up is a solid album but the re-release is a case similar to Young Foolish Happy. Too many fillers.

I think her first album was much better than the second. Not many standouts on the second one.
