March 2, 201312 yr Quite. She wouldn't want to sit near riff-raff like Cascada! Riff raff. Liking your choice of wording Rich
March 2, 201312 yr Sometimes you don't take part for gain though, sometimes you just take part for the sake of taking part
March 2, 201312 yr This morning on Graham Norton's show he said that the UK act was played on his show in the last 4 weeks, here's some of the ones that it might be: Petula Clark Alexandra Burke Tyler James Lily Allen Debbie Harry Paloma Faith Mika Joss Stone Gamu Caro Emerald Although it could be any of the others, you can look here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00tw2b9/broadcasts/2013/02
March 2, 201312 yr Wow, that's quite a hint :o Looking at all four weeks and assuming that it's a solo female artist that we know but would be shocked about, it whittles it down to: Nicole Scherzinger Rozalla Alexandra Burke Petula Clark Laura Mvula Gamu Caro Emerald Jessie J Kelly Rowland Pink Joss Stone Debbie Harry Paloma Faith Lily Allen Taylor Dayne Toni Basil Or if it is indeed a guy then the previously rumoured Mika has been played in the last four weeks too. I think we can comfortably rule out most of the above so I've highlighted the main contenders. Oh god, can you imagine if we sent Rozalla? I'm going to guess at Petula Clark or Joss Stone I think...I can't imagine Caro would do it for the UK over The Netherlands!
March 2, 201312 yr It does seem to be leaning towards Petula Clark, Cut Copy Me is very pleasant but she really would do absolutely nothing at Eurovision, no doubt it would be another Engelbert style affair...
March 2, 201312 yr He confirmed a while back that the act would be appearing on his Friday night show on 22nd March. They've yet to reveal the programme information for that (until Thursday), so we could find out then!
March 2, 201312 yr Apparently Graham said that he'd be revealing something on his show on the 16th March according to another forum (can't remember which!) Please not Petula Clark! :( Joss Stone, Alexandra, Paloma or any other modern singer would be amazing! :kink:
March 2, 201312 yr Joss Stone would probably be enough of a 'has-been-but-actually-rather-good' type of artist that would be willing to do it and be enough of a ratings pull for the BBC. *Rozalla gets chosen*
March 2, 201312 yr Apparently Joss was actually on Graham's show a couple of weeks ago. Don't know if that's a positive thing in that she has close ties with Graham or a negative thing in that would they really get her to come back again for another interview on the 22nd?
March 2, 201312 yr Gamu  Pink & Scherzinger are American so they won't. Joss would be a bad idea as I'd doubt she'd do well. Paloma however with a strong modern performance of something might help. Something more to her material than Eurovision would be nice.
March 2, 201312 yr Interesting that Graham specified "the last 4 weeks", and on the 2nd February (4 weeks ago) he played Alexandra's 'All Night Long' - quite a strange song to play isn't it?
March 2, 201312 yr Reading through that entire list, and although its very unlikely that it would be most of them - if it did turn out to be a 'shock' announcement - i'd be very happy with Paloma Faith, Jessie J, Olly Murs, Robbie Williams, Lily Allen, Snow Patrol, Kaiser Chiefs, Alexandra Burke or Laura Mvula. If the BBC decide to bring out the zimmer again for Petula Clark - then they might as well just re-send Engelbert Humperdink. The last singer that Graham Norton played on his show today was Bonnie Tyler :( Edited March 2, 201312 yr by James07
March 2, 201312 yr If the BBC decide to bring out the zimmer again for Petula Clark - then they might as well just re-send Engelbert Humperdink. The last singer that Graham Norton played on his show today was Bonnie Tyler :( Bonnie Tyler it is then. :D UK looking set for bottom end of the scoreboard once again. We should just be greatful that we can discover some great entries from other countries. Supporting the UK at Eurovision is a bit of a pointless task now.
March 2, 201312 yr Bonnie Tyler or Petula Clark at Eurovision = NO NO NO :( Alexandra would be a nice choice, but the if the BBC only care about ratings then it's more likely that they'll ask Bonnie/Petula.
March 2, 201312 yr Looking at the above list I sway towards Petula Clark, most of those acts are American, I don't think acts like Nicole, Debbie Harry etc just wouldn't increase their profile on ESC. But I wish they go with someone up to date, I can deal with Kim Wilde, Clare Grogan  or Tony Handley :D just kidding.
