Thing is, in the early weeks of The X Factor live shows hardly anyone votes compared to the last few weeks. It wouldn't surprise me if Christopher polled more votes in Week 8 than he managed in those first 7 weeks. Percentages can still be misleading as they don't reveal exact numbers of votes.

Wow at James' bounce back after coming bottom two, it really must have been a severe widespread case of 'I'm sure he's safe so I won't bother voting', and then suddenly his supporters came out in their droves when this was proved not to be the case. The percentages he had ever since are very impressive!

I missed the final as I was out last night but just caught the final half hour of the repeat and James was definitely the deserved winner, even if I haven't been won over by many of his performances during the series. Impossible sounds pretty good though!

Either that or all the fans of the acts who had left the competition started voting for him.

Digital Spy have a page giving five changes that X Factor needs in 2013:

1. Bring back the audition room!

2. Shake up the judging panel

3. Ditch the unnecessary nastiness

4. Pick talent over novelty

5. Bring back proper theme weeks

Pretty much everything us lot want! :P There comments underneath these headings are pretty spot on too: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/tv/s103/the-x-...ke-in-2013.html

They missed 1

6. No more sob stories

7. And no cheesy videos from them at home 'preparing' for the auditions with no knowledge of the cameraman hiding in the bathroom/on the train!

8. Original winner's songs written specifically for each contestant (like with X-Factor Australia).
I hope the panel next year is Louis, Nicole, Mel B and Simon - I think that would be pretty achievable as well and would bring this show back to what it used to be for me. I think Simon might come back for the 10 year anniversary and reschedule the US version so they don't clash.
Mel B would be a great judge, she really impressed me when she filled in and i found i was just waiting to get to her for comments. Ideally my judging panel would be Gary, Simon, Mel B and Dannii.

I heard that Gary might not be returning, he nearly quit last year, plus he has band commitments for 2013. Big question mark over Tulisa, they should really keep Louis, it is the 10th anniversary next year. I hope Simon Cowell makes a return, and I just read that Sharon Osborne might make a return on Digital Spy, not too fussed over Nicole though, if she stays or goes. Either way if Sharon and Simon do come back, one of the girls are in for the chop. I love to see the old team back, when the show first started it only had 3 judges and 3 categories, I can see this really happening since its the 10th series, by having the 3 original judges, plus another judge for the 4th category.

Another point I think they should drop the Overs category, I'm not be ageist, but apart from Steve Brookstein we haven't had another Overs winner I don't think we get another winner form the Overs category. And extend the age in the boys and girls category. That would be the perfect solution, with the 3 original judges and 3 categories for the 10th series.

Mel B may be a good judge at the auditions, but as soon as the live shows hit she is a bit shit.

I seriously don't know why people want Sharon back though. She was just an awful person.

Looking forward to Emeli, Kylie and Rihanna - really hope Rihanna sings Stay and Kylie sings On a Night Like This!

I hope Union J can win this. They're so much better than Baloney

Is Alexandra Burke still in the competition? I think she has a good chance of winning tbh.

Can we please not relive this again:

Apparently Simon Cowell wants Rihanna to be on the X Factor, either UK or US. I like Rihanna, but I think being a judge on X Factor would be the worst thing she could do. Anyway, I think her schedule is FAR too busy to get time to do X Factor! :P

I'm not surprised for why Simon wants Rihanna on the show, she is like the biggest popstar currently on the planet... But I do agree, being a judge on X Factor would not be a good decision IMO.
