December 15, 201212 yr No way will Gangnam Style go back to #1. I'd say #5 at best. People are seriously overestimating it. Yeah. Even though I said that it would go back to #1 a few weeks ago, I have my doubts about that prediction. It will definitely rise back up to a high position though! And Theo is right, as much as it pains me to say that. There will not be an episode of Top Of The Pops on New Year's Eve because of Theo's reasons. :(
December 15, 201212 yr Yeah. :( There is a New Year's Eve episode this year (for the first time SINCE 2009), but it's not a direct repeat...
December 15, 201212 yr Also next Wednesday i think? around 8 or 9pm there is going to be a programme on BBC1 or BBC2 about Christmas no1's.
December 15, 201212 yr Taylor Swift has a good chance. The music video has been released so is bound to get a fair amount of TV airplay over the coming weeks. That will definitely have an impact on the sales boost for 'I Knew You Were Trouble.' so could well benefit from the gift card effect. Has 'Stay' been confirmed as Rihanna's next single, or is it going to be one of the David Guetta or Chris Brown collabs?
December 15, 201212 yr Has 'Stay' been confirmed as Rihanna's next single, or is it going to be one of the David Guetta or Chris Brown collabs? I don' think the record company has an option, seeing as Stay has been so successful over the past week.
December 16, 201212 yr Author Also next Wednesday i think? around 8 or 9pm there is going to be a programme on BBC1 or BBC2 about Christmas no1's. Tell me more.... :D
December 17, 201212 yr Rihanna has already confirmed Stay as the next single. Impact date is the second week of January I think but don't hold me to that.
December 18, 201212 yr I've thought it would be Rihanna for a while now, but im starting to think Scream and Shout will do it, what with it being used on the Dre Beats advert etc. Stay will probably get there soon after though!
December 19, 201212 yr ^ they are but its not a strong track (getting very mixed reviews at best) and is prob. still more of a front loaded thing and lack of competition. I have a feeling it may get close but (without knowing what else is getting released in the next week or two). If things stay the way they are, I'd say S&S may end up getting close to #1 but stay put at #2 or even eventually start fall back. I think the X-Factor winner will somehow hold onto #1 until a new strong release comes out
December 19, 201212 yr "Scream & Shout" surely on course to do another 80-90k this week though - and seems to be gaining on James Arthur in regards to iTunes popularity. Unless "Impossible" manages to reclaim number-one after Justice Collective fall, I reckon "Scream & Shout" are in with a good chance - with "Stay" my second strongest prediction and "I Knew You Were Trouble" an outside chance (see it more as a long-running, #3/4 peaking hit).
December 20, 201212 yr Author S&S is gaining on Arthur simply because he's falling faster due to massive first week sales which naturally happens - doesnt mean William is selling more!
December 24, 201212 yr So is this sundays chart the first no1 of 2013? Yes it will be, as the week ending for the chart is 5th January, but its sales belong to 2012 as the sales date is from 23 Dec to the 29 Dec 2012
December 24, 201212 yr So is this sundays chart the first no1 of 2013? I'm not counting it as that - the gift card week is usually the first week of a new year but by my classification (i.e. the day after the sales period ends, the day the chart is announced) this one is definitely still in 2012. It is the first #1 of 2013 in that it'll be the #1 on the 1st of January though.
December 25, 201212 yr Most likely No. 1 - Will.i.am/Britney, Rihanna, Taylor Swift Darkhorse - Bruno Mars Outside chance - Olly Murs (now at number 3 on iTunes, but could drop massive as the week goes) No Chance - James Arthur, Psy
