December 20, 201212 yr Mr Blobby 'Christmas Is Blobbyland' sold 2 copies this year  I don't actually understand who would download that at all. Edited December 20, 201212 yr by ★ G R I E F ★
December 20, 201212 yr Quite surprised by some of the songs selling less than 10 copies. I would have thought Blue (Da Ba Dee) would have sold a lot more than 9 copies - is it available to download from iTunes? Same with Can We Fix It, would have thought with it being played every Christmas would have racked some sales.

Blue (Da Ba Dee) is known as one of those 'only the 90's could make this but it is still fun' type songs that gets loads of hits on youtube too.

Just checked and Eiffel 65's catalogue is on iTunes - their Top 8 songs on iTunes currently are all made up of Blue (Da Ba Dee), so it must have sold more than 9 copies, surely! However Bob the Builder's catalogue doesn't seem to be on iTunes, although if it's added to any compilation albums, then people can just download from that.

'Can We Fix It?' isn't on there  Shocked at the almost complete lack of sales for 'Blue (Da Ba Dee)'. GWON Crazy Frog though :D 7k seems a bit low for Will Smith 'Men In Black' considering it actually re-charted at #70 for a week this year.
December 20, 201212 yr 'Can We Fix It?' isn't on there  Oops, I meant Mr Blobby! :P Although Mr Blobby isn't on iTunes either. But like I said before, if it's been added to a compilation album, it could be downloaded from there. Edited December 20, 201212 yr by liamk97
December 20, 201212 yr Doop might have sold well because of Strictly Adam Rickitt is a bit random, though I believe he did some gay pride gigs this year? Michelle McManus is a TV presenter in Scotland so maybe that helps Edited December 20, 201212 yr by AcerBen
December 21, 201212 yr Thought Mr Blobby would sell a few copies in december with xtra airplay at this time. Also I was one of those who purchased Rick Astley this year
December 21, 201212 yr Author Out of the list in the first post - I downloaded Doop in 2011 and Axel F in 2005 :kink:
December 21, 201212 yr I think those ridiculously low figures (like 3 sales & 9 sales) might come from independent stores that stock old physical copies, and have their sales tracked. I reckon if OCC double checked, they'd find download data for these singles was listed separately. I remember MW provided a random fact about an N Sync cassette single, that was selling a few copies per year, enough to be the best selling cassette in recent consecutive years. That goes to show that random old physicals are still being tracked. Edit: Here's the article: Welsh rockers Feeder fell short of the Top 75 with their last five singles but an unusual (for 2012) four format release strategy brings them career hit number 25, as Borders debuts at number 52 (4,663 sales). The introductory single from the band's eighth studio album Generation Freakshow, which is released next month, Borders sold 2,978 copies digitally last week, plus 644 on CD, 574 on 7-inch and 467 on...cassette. It is the first Top 75 hit to include sales from a cassette since Elton John's Are You Ready For Love topped the chart in 2003. As the biggest-selling cassette of 2011 - 'N Sync's I'll Never Stop - sold only 11 copies all year, it will come as no surprise that Borders was the nation's number one cassette last week. It was also the number one 7-inch and the number two CD (behind Wherever You Are by The Military Wives) but not among the Top 75 downloads. Incidentally, it is something of a mystery why I'll Never Stop was the biggest selling cassette not only in 2011 but also in 2010 (13 sales) and 2009 (24 sales) - it was only a number 11 hit when released in 2000. Admittedly its cassette sales are very modest but is it possible that there's just one retailer who, for some reason, had a large number of copies of the release, and is selling the occasional copy from his bargain bin?
December 21, 201212 yr https://twitter.com/officialcharts Victoria Beckham/Dane Bowers 'Out of Your Mind' sold 3 copies this year  This is one of the most underrated pieces of music. I would prefer an instrumental but it's quite a good listen from the perspective of sound sculpting. Unfortunately, VB has made it very naff.
December 21, 201212 yr This is one of the most underrated pieces of music. I would prefer an instrumental but it's quite a good listen from the perspective of sound sculpting. Unfortunately, VB has made it very naff. It is only because of VB that it has sold the ridiculously high numbers it did. People think and remember it as a flop but it had some astronomical sales for a #2 single.
December 21, 201212 yr still got mad love for "out of your mind"! such a classic, and as tony said, VERY interesting production wise.
