You-whore-ee-ah!

There's a serious bang of tulibu-dibu-dauchu off this. :D

The following 10 artists will be taking part in the Azerbaijan national final on March 14th after qualifying from their heats over the last couple of months:

Aysel Babayeva

Farah Hadiyeva

Farid Mammadov

Leyla Aliyeva

Leyla Gafari

Nigar Huseynova

Ravana Aliyeva

Valeria Huseynzadeh

Vlada Akhundova

Vugar Muradov

How this final is going to work is yet to be determined but there is a rumour that the Azerbaijan song could be titled 'Hold Me' written by Swedes and composed by Greeks according to ESC Forum.

The Eurovision song for Azerbaijan will apparently be an uptempo song according to a poster on ESC Forum, but it is still yet to be confirmed how the national final will actually work.
Oh well there's almost 1:1 odds of it being Swedish penned. I just hope it's sung by a FEMALE with VOX
Or they want to do WELL and realise sending a song in English is better (and preferable imo). I don't get the fascination with songs in the countries own language, I mean if it's an amazing song fair does, but so often they aren't so I'd rather have a nice English number.

Twitter rumours are suggesting that this is the "chosen one" for Azerbaijan...

Oh it's really rather good, takes a while to get going though. I don't see it doing as well as they have done in the past if indeed that is their entry, plus with the new voting system I could see it ending up being close but no cigar in quite a few countries lists.

The national final is just beginning now and here is the full line-up of songs:

1. Leyla Gafari: “Pride”

2. Vugar Muradov: “Baby Baby”

3. Valeriya Huseynzadeh: “If This Is Love”

4. Leyla Aliyeva: “Welcome to the Sun”

5. Farah Hadiyeva: “We Are One”

6. Nigar Huseynova: “I Still Believe”

7. Vlada Akhundova: “Big Time”

8. Ravana Aliyeva: “Lonely King”

9. Farid Mammadov: “Hold Me”

10. Aysel Babayeva: “Sleazy Mo”

Farid Mammadov has won, and I assume 'Hold Me' will be the entry! From the songs I saw, he was definitely the best - but I don't think Azerbaijan will be winning in Malmo! Decent entry though and I'm sure it'll be staged brilliant as Azerbaijan entries always are!

Heard the song the other day. It's very dull and forgettable.

There's far better ballads already in the contest. Was hoping for an uptempo song from them. :(

I quite like it! In terms of Azerbaijan's entries, this is probably my favourite of theirs!
Not painfull to look at him :kink: but I think their perfect top 10 placing will end this year
As do I, though there aren't that many other similar songs. I think it'll be the voting system that does it to them mainly.

One minute in and I'd already forgotten how it started....:/

Really would not be shocked to see Azerbaijan get their long overdue DNQ with this dross.
