Just kidding :P its a very nice chart, Griff, in fact I really like ALL of that top 10 bar Taylor. I didn't include Titanium this year as I already knew and really loved it as an album track in 2012, but it was the song that showed me that there was more to the man than recycled club beats - and indeed prompted me to buy the album, which was surprisingly good!

Thanks for commenting! ^_^ The original edition of Nothing But The Beat was good when it came out, but I think that the only song that I'd listen to out of choice these days would be Titanium. The songs on the most recent edition of the album, which included She Wolf and Play Hard, were a lot better in my opinion, but that's probably because they weren't played as much on the radio stations. :kink:

A top 226?!!! :o

Disappointing, I was expecting a top 500. Not interested anymore...

1. David Guetta feat Sia - Titanium

One of the biggest hits of all time in my chart despite peaking at #3 in 2011. Kept off the top 2 by Gotye and Lana Del Rey so yes, an epic top 3 imo. :D 'Titanium' was my #11 of 2011.

2. Fun. feat Janelle Monae - We Are Young

My #6 of 2012, this spent 5 weeks at #1 in my chart. Just a great track, and their success continued with 'Some Nights' so it good that fun. didn't become one hit wonders.

3. Gotye feat Kimbra - Somebody That I Used To Know

My #3 of 2011 (I'm just so ahead of my time :P ) I entered this into BJSC in August 2011 when it was taking off in Australia, Belguim etc. They don't call me Hits for nothing!!! :D Although BJSC 2012 would suggest otherwiese. :(

4. Of Monsters And Men - Little Talks

...and another #1 hit for me too. 'Little Talks' progressed 40-31-23-06-01 - one of the rare occasions where my #1 entered outside the top 30. A pure grower of a track, it took about six months before I realised how much I liked the track.

5. Swedish House Mafia feat John Martin - Don’t You Worry Child

A fantastic dance track, got to #2 in my chart and ended 2012 as the 35th biggest hit for me.

7. Loreen - Euphoria

"...forever til the end of time". Eurovision 2013 has a lot to live up to in its winner. I can't remember the last time I liked a Eurovision winning entry as much as this.

9. Rudimental feat John Newman - Feel The Love

Just like 'Don't You Worry Child' 2012 had some incredible dance hits topping the UK chart which was brilliant to see.

10. PSY - Gangnam Style

No "Hold On" by Alabama Shakes ?!? :(

NULL AND VOID. [/jokes]

I won't comment on all of the tracks but just a few of the defining ones that I love and felt really summed up 2012 for me. Firstly, though I like your #1, it qualified for my 2011 chart (and failed to make that year's Top 100). Good choice though, I love Sia and the vocal hook in the song is just brilliant - the beat/melody lets the song down though and I reckon if Calvin Harris had produced it rather than Guetta's half-arsed attempt it would have become a firm favourite of mine.

Anyway, onto happier things:

3. Gotye feat Kimbra - Somebody That I Used To Know

It was brilliant to see this go on to become really successful this year in the UK, it was ineligible for my 2012 chart having peaked at #8 on my chart in 2011 and ranked 30th in 2011's EOY rundown.

4. Of Monsters And Men - Little Talks

I remember first hearing this last year, but it took until early this year to finally grow on me. Absolutely love it now and it just about made my Top 10 of the year (at #10).

9. Rudimental feat John Newman - Feel The Love

One of the best dance tracks of the year, brilliant to see D&B get a number 1 too - also love Bob Peachey's sax solo. Peaked at #10 for me and just narrowly missed out on ranking inside the Top 100 for 2012.

11. Jay-Z & Kanye West - Niggas In Paris

Similar to Rudimental this just missed the Top 100, but peaked at #13 and had a decent chart run. Unmistakably one of the club anthems of the year which I heard on almost every night out in 2012.

33. Grimes - Genesis

 LOVE this to death, I wasn't sure when I first heard the single but she won me over, I bought the album and it hasn't been off since February - spent 6 weeks at number 1 on my chart and 15 weeks in the Top 10 meaning it got #1 of the year by a mile!

35. Ellie Goulding - Figure 8

Only just beginning to really get into this. I thought "Anything Could Happen" was far too repetitive but it did grow on me. This (produced by Skrillex I understand?) is FAR better and may have won me over after a very disappointing debut album, and the less said about "Your Song" the better...

93. Jessie Ware - 110%

My favourite from her debut. Julio Bashmore on production duties here, and yes, sample clearances aside - he f***ing got this one spot on, Jessie's effortless vocals are a perfect match to the beat and minimal electronics. Ace.

Thanks for commenting, Hitstastic and Doctor Blind. :D I'll promise to reply properly at some point tomorrow because I want to give your replies justice, but I encourage everyone to keep commenting! ^_^

Bar the awful Gotye, thing at number 3... a near perfect top 10! Rudimental and Swedish House Mafia songs are both...

Haha, 2012 is one of my favourite years for music! What else would you expect. :P

05 I know. It's now my fourth favourite after Little Talks as well. Who knows, it might (never) overtake Gotye. :kink:

07 It's so incredible. But it hasn't stood the test of time for me after the initial hype! :P

22 It's still a 10/10 moment, all of my Top 40 are! That's how good this year has been for music. :D But there are 22 songs that are better than it, unfortunately. :P

24 I know! It's such a grower as well, I wasn't fussed and was disappointed when I first heard it, but it's one of my favourites from The Killers now!

25 It's always been excellent! I might have underestimated how much I like it though, maybe it would sound even better in a club.

42 It's one of the most perfect songs I've ever heard. Beautiful is an understatement!

49 I did a complete U-turn on it as well! I hated it a few weeks ago, but now I absolutely love it now!

67 Black Chandelier is brilliant! :D I've been a fan of Biffy ever since only Revolutions, Stingin' Belle was a personal chart #1 for me as well!

72 I know! :( Breathing is incredible though, it's my favourite form Jason as well!

86 Lover Of The Light is my favourite from the album. It's so disappointing considering that Sigh No More was my EOY #1 album of 2010! I Will Wait is DREADFUL. :puke:

90 You really should! They're brilliant, I'm not sure if you'll like them though. But we'll see!

Gotye is incredible! :( Why does no one like that song? And yes, I agree with you.

Hi Griff, liking these in the top 40!

1. David Guetta feat Sia - Titanium

2. Fun. feat Janelle Monae - We Are Young Good year for the big indie crossover hits for you, at #2/#3 and #4 in your EOY chart, nice to see Titanium out on top though, incredible dance song, was only as low as #10 in mine because it was also in my top 20 of last year!

3. Gotye feat Kimbra - Somebody That I Used To Know

4. Of Monsters And Men - Little Talks

5. Swedish House Mafia feat John Martin - Don’t You Worry Child

8. Taylor Swift - We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together

9. Rudimental feat John Newman - Feel The Love

10. PSY - Gangnam Style

13. Labrinth feat Emeli Sande - Beneath Your Beautiful

14. Adele - Skyfall

15. Nicki Minaj - Pound The Alarm

16. Flo Rida feat Sia - Wild Ones

24. The Killers - Runaways

25. Otto Knows - Million Voices

29. Calvin Harris feat Florence Welch - Sweet Nothing

30. Plan B - ill Manors

31. Taylor Swift - I Knew You Were Trouble

32. Wiley feat Ms D - Heatwave

33. Grimes - Genesis

34. iamamiwhoami - Play

35. Ellie Goulding - Figure 8

36. Azealia Banks feat Lazy Jay - 212

37. Chris Brown - Don’t Wake Me Up So good, it's annoying that BJ hate it!

38. Rita Ora feat Tinie Tempah - R.I.P.
