Posted January 2, 201312 yr There are not many new releases this month as you can see below. How will they do in the charts? What will be #1? Will any releases come out of nowhere and take over the charts? Thanks April J for release dates ;) Vato Gonzalez Vs Lethal Bizzle & Donaeo - Not A Saint (7 Jan) Biffy Clyro – Black Chandelier (14 Jan) 50 Cent feat Eminem & Adam Levine – My Life (14 Jan) Amelia Lily - Shut Up (And Give Me Whatever You Got) (21 Jan) Bingo Players feat Far East Movement - Get Up (Rattle) (21 Jan) Conor Maynard feat Wiley – Animal (21 Jan) Calvin Harris feat Tinie Tempah – Drinking From The Bottle (28 Jan) Amelia, Bingo Players and Calvin are the only ones who have a big chance of going top 10 :( The others should be top 20s except maybe Biffy Clyro. January 2, 201312 yr Vato, not really a fan of the track myself, probably top 5, possibility #1, if single sales are low for the time of the year, unless some other track climbs to #1 50 Cent, I'm not entirely sure how well this track will do after listening to the track again, it could go top 10 for sure, since there is hardly any new releases that week. Amelia could go either way. A shade improvement on her last single, starts off alright but ends up getting boring towards the end of the track, she could do better. Its not really a track that would sell a huge amount, Bingo Players will definitely be ahead of her that week. Get Up (Rattle) reminds me off Riverside, its probably a shoe in for the #1 Calvin is already charting now, I reckon the track will run out of steam by the time its officially released. Conor and Biffy top 10/15
January 2, 201312 yr #6 Vato Gonzalez Vs Lethal Bizzle & Donaeo - Not A Saint (7 Jan) It's already had over 4 million views on YouTube and I can imagine this going top 10 at least in the UK. That said, Wiley released quite a heavy underground dance hit a couple of years back called 'Take That' which I thought would benefit from the low January sales climate. That track didn't even make the top 20 so success here isn't guaranteed. I've not seen this video once yet on any of the many music channels. #20 Biffy Clyro – Black Chandelier (14 Jan) Their last album didn't provide any big hits. 'Many Of Horror' only made the top 10 thanks to Matt Cardle releasing the track as his X Factor winner's single. They probably think by releasing in January, they'll benefit from the lower sales in January. However, 'Black Chandelier' isn't as strong a track as 'Mountains' so I don't see this doing well, but the album should do well. #3 50 Cent feat Eminem & Adam Levine – My Life (14 Jan) Interesting how this hasn't taken off at all in other countries where this has already been released. Even in the US this doesn't seem to have taken off. However, the UK can often be like...sooo American that 'My Life' probably will be a hit here. #2 Amelia Lily - Shut Up (And Give Me Whatever You Got) (21 Jan) 'You Bring Me Joy' did much better than I expected so with a #2 hit under Amelia's belt, this could become another sure fire top 10 hit too. #1 Bingo Players feat Far East Movement - Get Up (Rattle) (21 Jan) This is going to be big I reckon. I was flicking through the music channels this morning and this video seems to be getting the V.I.P. treatment by playing the track at particular times throughout the day. The last video I remember getting this treatment was 'Call Me Maybe' so yes I think this is heading for #1. #14 Conor Maynard feat Wiley – Animal (21 Jan) Hmm, I'll try and be impartial although it's easy to let personal opinion affect your views. I'm guessing 'Turn Around' is close to becoming Conor's biggest selling hit in the UK despite peaking lower than both 'Can't Say No' and 'Vegas Girl'. I think it'll go top 20 but can't see it being anything bigger than that. #1 Calvin Harris feat Tinie Tempah – Drinking From The Bottle (28 Jan) It got to #17 off the back of '18 Months' getting released. If an album track can do that well without any UK airplay then surely the signs are there that this could be a big hit. Tinie is due to release his second album this year so 'DFTB' could well be setting up Tinie's major return to the charts.

January 2, 201312 yr #6 Vato Gonzalez Vs Lethal Bizzle & Donaeo - Not A Saint (7 Jan) Could easily be bigger though given it's a quiet week. #24 Biffy Clyro – Black Chandelier (14 Jan) Obviously they're not a singles act really, they have enough of a fanbase to go top 40 though I'd imagine. #4 50 Cent feat Eminem & Adam Levine – My Life (14 Jan) Should stick around a while either way, don't think it will be #1 but it'll be a big January hit. #3 Amelia Lily - Shut Up (And Give Me Whatever You Got) (21 Jan) Not as good as You Bring Me Joy, surely a top 10 and possibly a #1 just because it's quiet. #5 Bingo Players feat Far East Movement - Get Up (Rattle) (21 Jan) Could be a surprise big hit and surpass this prediction though! #7 Conor Maynard feat Wiley – Animal (21 Jan) New version should propel it higher than it would have gone, it's his best single so far by miles imo so I hope it does better! #3 Calvin Harris feat Tinie Tempah – Drinking From The Bottle (28 Jan) Should repeak I'd imagine, it got top 20 on basically nothing so airplay/promo should yield a big hit, I wouldn't rule out #1 really.
January 2, 201312 yr #2 Vato Gonzalez Vs Lethal Bizzle & Donaeo - Not A Saint Its bloody awful, but I can see it being big unfortunately. Already has over 4 million views on YouTube, can't see it not going top 5 at least. #27 Biffy Clyro – Black Chandelier Can't see it doing much. Fan base will make it chart but will be out of the top 40 the following week for certain. #5 50 Cent feat Eminem & Adam Levine – My Life Thought this could be a contender for #1 but I have looked at what it has done worldwide so far and it really isn't as big as I had imagined. I think it will do similarly to 'Crack A Bottle'. #4 Amelia Lily - Shut Up (And Give Me Whatever You Got) It could go higher, depending on how quiet the schedule is, but I don't think it is as popular as 'You Bring Me Joy' so predicted according to that. #6 Bingo Players feat Far East Movement - Get Up (Rattle) Can see this doing rather well actually, however I don't think it has enough hype yet to be massive straight away so I can see it going to #6 but hanging round for a while. #18 Conor Maynard feat Wiley – Animal I really would like this to be bigger as it is by far his best single, but I can just see it scrapping the top 20 when the Wiley version is released unfortunately. #4 Calvin Harris feat Tinie Tempah – Drinking From The Bottle It will have a mammoth chart run, but I can't actually see it being a top 3 hit at the moment.
January 2, 201312 yr http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2013/jan/0...ck-2013-revival Check the article above folks, an interesting read at the very least! Interesting article and admire how the reporter is celebrating the rise of acts such as PSY, Gotye and Lana Del Rey. However, can these three acts continue to generate more success in the future? The reporter is criticising the likes of David Guetta and Calvin Harris yet they have continued to remain successful over a longer period of time. I refuse to mention Pitbull as 'Don't Stop The Party' is dreadful - right down there alongside Guetta's 'Little Bad Girl' as two of the worst dance tracks I've ever heard. Or as I call it "music for people who don't like music". I'm hoping Haim win the BBC Sound of 2013 as I reckon they've got the most potential to do well (yes, moreso than AlunaGeorge - that's just my gut instinct). CHVRCHES have already come 5th in the Sound of 2013 but again, with tracks like 'Lies' and 'The Mother We Share', I don't see why they can't be successful too. Not just in 2013, but in the long term too. I've also changed my mind over 'Drinking From The Bottle', I think it will be a UK #1 - the 'Titanium' of 2013.
January 2, 201312 yr Same here - i was going to make the titanium comparison earlier on there!! I also didnt realise Aluna George was an act lol!!
January 2, 201312 yr 14 - Vato Gonzalez vs Lethal Bizzle & Donae'o - Not A Saint Despite the amount of YT views, the pre-order(s) for this don't seem to be doing very well. Top 15/20 is maybe as high as it'll get 31 - Biffy Clyro - Black Chandelier The fact it's an EP might help (two tracks on there aren't on the album), but i don't see it doing much unfortunately 06 - 50 Cent ft. Eminem & Adam Levine - My Life 04 - Amelia Lily - Shut Up (And Give Me Whatever You Got) 03 - Bingo Players ft. Far East Movement - Get Up (Rattle) Hard to tell, since I think the Top 3 that week will be close between this, Calvin and will.i.am 18 - Conor Maynard ft. Wiley - Animal 01 - Calvin Harris ft. Tinie Tempah - Drinking From The Bottle Yawn Everything Everything's "Kemosabe" blows all of these out the water, but i think that song will be lucky to even manage a Top 75 place (it's out the same week as the album) :(
January 2, 201312 yr I like Drinking From the Bottle, but its really everything that that article was blasting, this being the first new number 1 of 2013 would not be the best start in terms of the charts forward, lets hope its not. Oh and predictions: Vato Gonzalez Vs Lethal Bizzle & Donaeo - Not A Saint - No.7 Biffy Clyro – Black Chandelier - No.29 50 Cent feat Eminem & Adam Levine – No.3 Amelia Lily - Shut Up (And Give Me Whatever You Got) - No.6 Bingo Players feat Far East Movement - Get Up (Rattle) - No.1 Conor Maynard feat Wiley – Animal - No.12 Calvin Harris feat Tinie Tempah – Drinking From The Bottle - No.2
January 2, 201312 yr Vato Gonzalez Vs Lethal Bizzle & Donaeo - Not A Saint (7 Jan) - #13 - I think it's Youtube views have been rigged by the record label tbh. Biffy Clyro – Black Chandelier (14 Jan) - #26 50 Cent feat Eminem & Adam Levine – My Life (14 Jan) - #11 Amelia Lily - Shut Up (And Give Me Whatever You Got) (21 Jan) - #3 Bingo Players feat Far East Movement - Get Up (Rattle) (21 Jan) - #6 - Not sure about this, I think it could peak higher and drop faster, or peak lower and hang around for ages Conor Maynard feat Wiley – Animal (21 Jan) - #8 - I think the Wiley remix will boost it Calvin Harris feat Tinie Tempah – Drinking From The Bottle (28 Jan) - #5 - I don't think it will do that well. I find the song pretty forgettable tbh, it doesn't have that memorable melody/hook that some of Calvin's songs like I'm Not Alone and Bounce had imo.
January 4, 201312 yr These are my predictions, i think we could have some surprise number ones: Vato Gonzalez Vs Lethal Bizzle & Donaeo - Not A Saint (7 Jan) - #6 (hope this song goes top 3 at least) Biffy Clyro – Black Chandelier (14 Jan) - #26 50 Cent feat Eminem & Adam Levine – My Life (14 Jan) - #1 Amelia Lily - Shut Up (And Give Me Whatever You Got) (21 Jan) - #3 :puke2: Bingo Players feat Far East Movement - Get Up (Rattle) (21 Jan) - #1 Conor Maynard feat Wiley – Animal (21 Jan) - #7 Calvin Harris feat Tinie Tempah – Drinking From The Bottle (28 Jan) - #2 (this song deserves #1 but Calvin is the king of #2 hits so i can see him just missing out again) I think ALL will secure a top 10 position at least, apart from Biffy Clyro who i hope can do better than my prediction!! January 4, 201312 yr I really cant stand amelias new tune. i loved YBMJ but this one doesnt do it for me :( any idea when her album is out??
January 21, 201312 yr Author Amelia, Bingo Players and Calvin are the only ones who have a big chance of going top 10 :( The others should be top 20s except maybe Biffy Clyro. Looks like I was right about Amelia, Bingo Players and Calvin going top 10. However I was wrong about Biffy missing top 20, 50 Cent missing top 10 and possibly wrong about Conor missing top 10.
