But The Saturdays have never benefited from a #1 effect eventhough they were officially #1 Monday through Saturday with Missing You. Maybe What About Us can hold its place IF it does reach the summit.

But they've only been #1 on iTunes once which was All Fired Up for 30 minutes. That could have been #1 with extra sales from the #1 effect had Pixie Lott not performed on Red or Black pretty much as soon as they reached #1, which boosted her up to the top and gave her the #1 effect.

Sadly I really do not think 'The Saturdays' will ever be no1. There best chance was 'Just can't get enough' and my favourite 'Missing you'. Top 5 for 'What about now' and a steady drop would be a good result in my eyes.
I agree with the above post. I don't know why everyone is expecting The Saturdays to be #1 with What About Us if previous releases couldn't do it!

I dunno, they seem to be doing well on TV airplay (the best they've done in a long time) and seem much more relevant now than they did with the On Your Radar/30 Days era. Their reality show is also doing well on E! UK (4/6 top spots on the ratings) and airplay is off to a decent start. Plus there's no competition and they have two versions of the song.

If they STILL can't get a hit with this (and it doesn't matter if it goes to #1 as long as it actually sticks around for longer than six weeks) then I don't know what else they can do.

I dont think the Saturdays will be no1, its been held back too long. Alot of the time with the charts its about the popularity of a group and the saturdays just arent that popular for a girl group to be honest!
They will. The charts are tired, so they can do it!
I can't believe that they have never had a number one. They get top marks for perseverance!

That predictions thread has reminded me to bump this topic.

Predict the upcoming releases and what will be #1 in April :D

Here's what I think will be #1:

07/04/12 - Duke Dumont feat. A*M*E "Need U (100%)"

14/04/12 - will.i.am feat. Justin Bieber "#thatPOWER" (or possibly a 2nd week for Duke/Pink climbing to #1)

21/04/12 - Rudimental feat. Ella Eyre "Waiting All Night"

28/04/12 - Unpredictable, I think something that we don't know about will come up at this point - but if it's a really dry week then Rudimental for a 2nd week I guess.

Here are the songs that may be impacting the charts in April!

1st April

Duke Dumont feat A*M*E – Need U (100%)

Michael Buble – It’s A Beautiful Day

Tom Odell – Hold Me

8th Apr

Rihanna – Pour It Up

29th April

Demi Lovato – Heart Attack

Misha B – Here’s To Everything (Ooh La La)

Get predicting!

Duke Dumont obviously this week. Next week should be a three way battle between Need U, #thatpower and It's Time - I can see the latter smashing when it comes out tomorrow and ending up top 10 on Sunday.

Funny how certain people were so adamant that The Sats would never get #1!

1st April

02 Duke Dumont feat A*M*E – Need U (100%) [For some reason, I keep thinking this will miss out to Pink, I can't see it at #1]

09 Misha B – Here’s To Everything (Ooh La La)

1st April

01 Duke Dumont feat A*M*E – Need U (100%)

24 Devlin feat Etta Bond – Love Cards

29th April

04 Demi Lovato – Heart Attack

19 Misha B – Here’s To Everything (Ooh La La)

1st/8th April Duke Dumont #1 (2wks)

Tom Odell - Hold Me - #42

Rihanna - Pour It Up - #9

29th April

Demi Lovato - Heart Attack - #2

Misha B - Here's to Everything - #10

Some other releases that could do well:

Calvin Harris (ft. Ellie Goulding) - I Need Your Love - #2 (although it could get to #1 on an empty week)

Imagine Dragons - It's Time - #7 (I sense a 'Drive By'-type run)

Redlight - Switch It Off [Apr 29] - #8

Chris Brown - Fine China - #8

Loveable Rogues - What A Night [Apr 22] - #14

Swiss Lips - U Got The Power [Apr 29] - #31 (deserves to be #1 though obviously)

It's quite difficult to tell what'll happen after April. 'Can't Hold Us' might take off once it starts getting airplay, and MAYBE Passenger's 'Let Her Go' might finally get some support. Stooshe, Wretch 32 and Sub Focus could be future #1 contenders

I think 28/04/12 could go to either Psy's new single or Imagine Dragons 'It's Time'. 14/04/12 Beyonce could prove to be a challenger for #1.

What does Buzzjack think about the new singles of Psy and Beyonce. Will they do well?

Will.i.am and PSY for top ten... However think number one will stay with Duke Dumont for a second week.
