February 15, 201312 yr Just in case no one is aware, Justin is performing on the Brits next Weds. His 2 singles should climb further up the chart next week, I think he is performing Suit & Tie.
February 15, 201312 yr Shame, JT should use this opportunity to perform 'Mirrors' as it's the better track. Oh well. :(
February 15, 201312 yr Author I get the feeling he'll do something similar to his Grammy's performance and mash it up with something else. I'm hoping for 'Mirrors' though. Would love to see that performed live (although they're completely different in sound)..
February 15, 201312 yr Dunno... I guess I'll be swimming against the stream and say I prefer Suit & Tie :P I love S&T, Mirrors is ok.
February 17, 201312 yr Author He is going to be on Jonathan Ross this coming week! Jonathan seemed to only mention him, so I am sort of hoping he gets to do two or three tracks! 'Mirrors', 'Suit & Tie' and 'Cry Me A River' would be wonderful. :P (Although I'm only expecting a S&T performance, considering he'll be doing 'Mirrors' (I'm still not convinced this will happen for some reason) at the Brits.)
March 11, 201312 yr Author SNL was so funny! I'm not sure how it compares to his other 4 SNL's as I haven't seen them (although I'm aware of a few sketches he did etc.). His sense of humour is brilliant and his comedic timing is spot on! So rare for a popstar. :P
March 11, 201312 yr No way! Ah can't wait to hear it in full, been waiting way to long for this comeback! King JT has returned
March 12, 201312 yr Why so little reactions after all the hype? 'Don't Hold the Wall' is really, really good! The first track was also interesting, 'Suit & Tie' being the least interesting of the three so far. I'm a Timbaland freak so it must be said - the production is stellar so far.
March 12, 201312 yr ^Timbaland's going to be the most in demand producer AGAIN after this record drops. I seriously thought he was going stale, but the production on this is so good. Complete re-invention. Hope Shock Value 3 materialises now. Will need to give 3/4 listens before I can give my full view on the album. I've not listened to it fully with full concentration so can't fully comment. There's nothing on there, Mirrors aside that sticks out at you. Like FS/LS I imagine you'll need a good 4/5 listens until you can fully appreciate the album. What I will say, is I can understand why the guy is so proud of it, and why he's released it. It's old skool at the same time as being current in 2013. Hard to put in the words.
March 13, 201312 yr Author OMG. 'Blue Ocean Floor'... it's wonderful! Don't think I'm going to stop playing that for a while! This whole album is brilliant to me. I don't think it's my "loon glasses" either. The production is flawless. Justin's vocals are as good as they've ever been! Timbaland, like Rooney and Atonement has already stated, is managed to re-invent himself and this album isn't the same as his old, stale sound. Him and Timberlake certainly know how to create magic when they're together. I really don't get how people can call this album "dull" or "bland", as I've seen a few times. It's very much a Justin Timberlake album, with a much more mature and grown up sound.
March 13, 201312 yr 'Don't Hold the Wall' is really, really good! I've only listened to the first three songs so far. But the instrumental on that song!!! :o That's why I love Timbaland! Pusher Love Girl is brilliant as well. It's got a huge chorus, and it sounds so classy too. Like a Cee-Lo Green song.
March 13, 201312 yr I've pre ordered the CD, so hoping to get this at the weekend. Like what you guys are saying though :)
March 13, 201312 yr EXCELLENT album. I love the fact that he experiments with old retro and modern sound.- my favorite songs besides Suit and Tie are Pusher Love Girl, Tunnel Vision, Strawberry Bubblegum, Don't Hold The Wall and Let The Groove In - but honestly, there is not 1 song that I don't like. The melody and production is so rich - the album title is spot on - it is truly an experience. I was certain I would get very annoyed because of the very long songs, but because he mixes 2-3 musical styles in each song, it is not boring or annoying - Strawberry Bubblegum is a great example.. I mean, the last part of the song is completely different than the rest of the song. This for the is definitely one of the best RnB albums in recent years, it is so nice to hear proper music for a change, not the same general pop, dance, electronic music. Justin definitely made something original again, whether someone likes him or not, he is very talented and creative. I'm sure this album will be a huge seller.
