Apologies, just get so passionate about music. Have been waiting years for this and look. It's frustrating. Don't know why artists bother releasing sometimes.

This is an on air on sale release, without any major promotion, without a video, without radio or tv support. It will come later and I'm sure the song will stick around long enough.

TBH I myself didn't even know that Justin will come back. A very pleasant surprise :)

Look at what  He's #1 in the UK and US (where he has a HUMOUNGOUS lead) and #1 or top 5 in countless other countries too. He's also everywhere in terms of media hyping his comeback. You make omrimayo seem calm and collected

Clown  #10 (BJ rejoices)

Locked Out of Heaven  #11

Skyfall  #12

Animal  #31 :cheer:

Learn To Love Again  #33 - two AMAZING new entries this week then.

Hopefully R1 get behind this and it becomes a decent sized hit. Not holding out much hope, though.

Clown is hardly shit the bed amazing or anything (although it's pretty good) but thank GOD LOOH is finally out of the top 10!

This has come out nowhere. Last i checked it wasn't even top 1500. Glad the video is doing it's business, the song is incredible (as is the album tbh but i think that ship has sailed )

138. Explosions - Ellie Goulding

I said in a thread a couple of weeks ago that Justin Timberlake would probably flop if he made a comeback (for obvious reasons), and shortly after that he came out of nowhere with a new tune, and to my surprise, he hasn't flopped, he's at #1 on iTunes, and without being held back as well! I can't see why anyone would be upset about that, it could've been so much worse. The success of the song is already incredible.

And the Ellie Goulding album track is high because it's being used in an advert I think.

Why is this so high? :o

There's a trailer on ITV1 for upcoming drama soundtracked by it. Hopefully it's the next single too and another top 40

I agree with this Eric. I'm also curious how it will perform in the next coming weeks. That'll show us clearly how popular is he right now.

I think if Capital gives it heavy airplay it'll hang around, and if it doesn't then it'll probably fall down the chart.

tbh I loved Futuresex/Lovsounds and a month ago or so I was speaking to friends that I really miss his music, and shame that he was focusing more on films rather than music... and now here he's back :D

Scream & Shout back to #2 combined now, so should be quite safe for a top 2 finish this week. Not sure how quick Justin will fall, but expect it will be similar to David Bowie, with sales this week of about 45k?
I just thought his comeback single would sell 100k plus in first week with no hassle. It's depressing.

I guess that it shows you how underwhelming the song is then. If he came back with a song like SexyBack, I have no doubt that the song would sell over 100k in the first week. But he hasn't, which shows you how underwhelming the song actually is.

I take it that you're new to the forum as well, so you might want to comment on the Justin Timberlake thread in the Pop Forum that talks about the song and what other members of the forum think about it.

I think how well 'Die Young' has done means it stands a fairly good chance of Radio 1 getting behind it. It's better than 'Die Young', but there are even better songs on the album.

Really? Is BuzzJack not getting sick of Emeli?

'Locked Out Of Heaven' already dropped out of the top 10 before, it re-entered when the second version of 'My Life' dropped out :P

 38. Bassline Junkie - Dizzee Rascal

This to climb this week from its #72 debut? Seems to be a song from his new mixtape so surely it's available free elsewhere (I'm sure 'mixtapes' are usually free downloads).
