Posted January 13, 201312 yr Hi, As I may have mentioned, I have been compiling a list of sales figures extracted from the weekly Music Week sales posts - if you want to check out what I've done so far (2011 to date), the excel file is on my website below. http://www.vidcapper.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/...alesSummary.xls Where I have more than one figure for any given item, I've added columns that give the no.of weeks between sales figures, and the sales accrued during that period. [Yes, I know there are a few anomalies, so please ignore them]. I'd welcome any other feedback, though.
January 13, 201312 yr Thanks for doing this, I did start making a list for myself but nothing as complex as your list.
January 13, 201312 yr Thanks so much for this, this is really interesting for a sales geek like me! :D
January 13, 201312 yr Author Great list, thanks for sharing If I put a link in my YTD notes, it might even forestall a question or two. :)
January 13, 201312 yr Author Thanks so much for this, this is really interesting for a sales geek like me! :D One of the things that jumped out at me, was that Steve Brockstein seems to have sold just 64 copies of his album in 58 weeks! :w00t:

January 13, 201312 yr Any sales in yellow are downloads and purple are rounded, right? Also, some of the totals from the 2012 Q1 MusicWeek Report seem to be 21st century only - like Madonna's Immaculate Collection. Your list gives a good idea which albums will be able to pass one million in the next couple of years, so thanks for that! :D

January 14, 201312 yr Author I will update this at intervals. Obviously I can only add 1 *new* week at a time, but there's plenty more in the achive to add... :)
January 14, 201312 yr Fantastic! Tried to do this myself once lasted about 6 weeks ;-( thanks vc and the promise of updates and working back is very exciting! We should start an appreciation fund ;-p
January 16, 201312 yr 31/07/2011 Beatles 1 2,898,235 18/09/2011 Beatles 1 2,898,524 7 289 I know these are OCC figures but sales of only 289 in 7 weeks seems very low. Maybe OCC adjusted previous sales downwards.
January 16, 201312 yr I know these are OCC figures but sales of only 289 in 7 weeks seems very low. Maybe OCC adjusted previous sales downwards. One of them will definitely be wrong. They made a similar mistake when updating the Top 10 Best Selling Albums of All Time in the UK where Queen's Greatest Hits had supposedly sold something stupid like 1,000 copies in about 8 months.
January 16, 201312 yr Author [Yes, I know there are a few anomalies, so please ignore them]. I know these are OCC figures but sales of only 289 in 7 weeks seems very low. Maybe OCC adjusted previous sales downwards. That's why I stated the above in my initial post. :)
January 19, 201312 yr Author I just realised I can mine old OZAP reports too, for a few extra totals... :)
January 19, 201312 yr Is Gold by ABBA one of the anomalies? 850k in a month and a half in April/May last year seems way too high!
