Shocked and saddened that Coldplay are number one. The staff at 6music will be mortified. As usual most of the better songs are lower down the list. I'd voted for Metronomy at 91
I really don't get the fuss with "Clocks", they have so many better songs. "Dancefloor" would have been as good a winner as any.
I would have chosen different singles by nearly all those bands.

Clocks is nice, but hardly #1 material

Great to see the likes of Mykonos, Islands, Seven Nation Army and Paper Planes on there

Mars Volta - Inertatic ESP is better than everything there.
A mostly poxy list, not indicative of anything that gets played on 6Music but of the kind of crap that breaks into the R1 playlist.

I got the fuss with Clocks for a few months in 2002 - and then it was EVERYWHERE. And that killed it.

In My Place is a much better song. Teddy Picker is my fave Arctic Monkeys song.

This is quite a meh list. And unnecessarily manipulated by 6music.

What were they fearing, a Coldplay deluge. I do still like AROBTTH but Clocks is noway the best track on it.

And any list with Pumped Up Kicks on it is by default moronic.

I just noticed this

15 Midlake - Roscoe

'Wake Up' over 'Rebellion (Lies)'...?

I'd have Neighborhood 2 (Laïka) over either. :D

They're all tens but Rebellion is almost a classic at this point and the most obvious choice, which these lists usually go for.

I think it's a brilliant list to be honest, there's not really anything I wouldn't choose to listen to (except perhaps La Roux). Yes, some choices to represent the artists are pretty bizarre and yes it's a predictable and fairly boring winner but it's pretty hard to please everyone with lists like this but I do think this list does a good job of trying.

Why does the list title include the word "new"?

Could their be a top 100 Old Songs of the Last 10 years?

Clocks is stunning and arousing, it's one of my favourite songs of all time.
