Posted February 3, 201312 yr What's your forgotten top 40 singles that have made the singles chart? The following from 2009 were BIIIIIIIIIIG FAVES of mine: Carolina Liar - Show Me What I'm Looking For #31. GORGEOUS song and lyrics. Should have been huge. 5IqCfxgKZd8 The Yeah You's - 15 Minutes - #36. wupJ7MmIr9k
February 3, 201312 yr I remember The Yeah You's. They had this song, which I was sure was going top 40, because I heard it so many places, Galaxy FM, Radio 2, BRMB, etc, but it didn't make it. _vO6mNL4bCI There's probably a lot of top 40 hits that I've forgotten, but I can't remember any of them atm.

I think it made 80 something. Shame as it was a great song. Guess, it wasn't enough to capture their imagination. I did have their album, probably lost it whilst moving twice or it's locked away in my cupboard. You a Midlander? I'm from Brum, lived in Tipton now based in Weston-super-mare.
February 3, 201312 yr I presume this is for songs that were actually forgotten, not ones released back in the 60s and 70s that people just don't remember because they didn't even know them? :P
February 3, 201312 yr I remember that follow-up to 15 Minutes. It was Terry Wogan's Record Of The Week at one point. It wasn't as good as 15 Minutes though.

I live in Birmingham. I guess you got that from the radio stations I listed. I like that song too, that why I still remember it. It's so happy. I might look back through some old charts and see what I can remember. Edited February 3, 201312 yr by Eric_Blob

February 3, 201312 yr Author Yeah. I live in Birmingham. I guess you got that from the radio stations I listed. I like that song too, that why I still remember it. It's so happy. Yup :D Shame BRMB and Galaxy declined when the name changes came in. I stopped listening once I moved to Tipton, switched to Absolute 00s through my phone. The username gives it away for me....one of the few things I miss in Brum ;) It's a positive song, and a nice video. Edited February 3, 201312 yr by StAndrews1875

Okay. :D Agnes' I Need You Now is one of my faves: 6HRYbzX4z5s Agnes was such a one-hit wonder! I loved Release Me and expected big things for her follow-up which I found really catchy too, but instead it scraped a week at #40. :( I loved On and On too which missed the Top 75, but thankfully, that was a hit in some other countries. Come back to our charts, Agnes!

They've both become soooo repetitive in the past few years though. :( Before I liked listening to them, because you'd often hear a song you'd never heard before, or hadn't heard in ages (like Getting Up With You), but not anymore. :( I remember Need You Now by Agnes actually. And there's the Cahill remix which sampled Clocks/When Love Takes Over. Edited February 3, 201312 yr by Eric_Blob
February 3, 201312 yr Author "I Need You Now" should have been a huge hit. Poor Agnes. I prefered the UK remix to "On and On" to the original arrangement
February 3, 201312 yr I remember Need You Now by Agnes actually. And there's the Cahill remix which sampled Clocks/When Love Takes Over. I was expecting you to! :D I've heard quite a few remixes of Release Me/I Need You Know/On and On, but none compared to the originals and tbh, they didn't need remixing anyway.

I think LMFAO did a remix of Release Me. It sounded completely different to the original though!

And there's the Cahill remix which sampled Clocks/When Love Takes Over. It's the power of Bauer/Orion. Repeat, repeat, repeat. No wonder the chart is in a bad state. I only know of three stations here which are Breeze which is very Heart FM esque though you do get a 90s hit you've not heard for a while on there (I'll publish it very soon :)), Heart and Kiss.
February 3, 201312 yr QGLLeWOfghI This song inspired me, I wouldn't say that about many songs either.

I don't listen to the local radio stations as much as I used to, but the ones I remember getting were Radio 2, Radio 1, BRMB/Mercia/Beacon/Free, Heart, Galaxy/Capital, Touch, Smooth, Kerrang! I wish we got Choice FM in Birmingham. It's owned by Global too, but it's not quite as repetitive as Capital, and you hear lots of non-chart stuff on there. And they don't play The Wanted, Lawson, etc. either (but they do play Cover Drive).
February 3, 201312 yr oQcBYboY8G4 lsNBQJEofQM qklFpvW7IME OfrZ5k6bwC4 ZYJVKT0V-9U I remember thinking Pass At Me would be a big hit at one point, L.O.L. Last Ones Standing and On My Own deserved better :( I would mention James Blake's (one of my fave songs from 2010), although i'm not really sure if it's "forgotten" or not...but still, I was ECSTATIC when that made the Top 40
February 3, 201312 yr Author What is with Pitbull and these slaggy women in most of his videos? "Last Ones Standing" LOVE!!! Most of Example's songs have been forgotten imo despite him being a current artist. LOVED NEVA SOFT!!
February 3, 201312 yr I loved the Example's songs from the Won't Go Quietly era - Kickstarts is such a summery tune. Last Ones Standing should have done much better, as should of Watch the Sun Go Up (it's probably less remembered than LOS).
