March 21, 201312 yr The difference between P!nk (and Kelly Clarkson) and Avril - TALENT. Like Avril as I do, she really can't sing and her gimmicky songs do date quickly. I listened to The Best Damn Thing again the other day and it was laughable for the most part.
March 21, 201312 yr Avril can sing, her voice is just not as powerful as P!nk's or Kelly's. I think her music is still great. I love each and every one of her albums. The problem is with her image Edited March 21, 201312 yr by Marina Hurts
March 21, 201312 yr Author It is a short clip, but the full song definitely has a lot of potential from what I can hear! :D
March 21, 201312 yr The difference between P!nk (and Kelly Clarkson) and Avril - TALENT. Like Avril as I do, she really can't sing and her gimmicky songs do date quickly. I listened to The Best Damn Thing again the other day and it was laughable for the most part. Sort of true and I do agree with whoever said that it's her image that's the problem. She dresses like she's stuck in the early 00s with the terrible streak-dyed hair that she's had since 'Girlfriend' and the childish clothing. It seems like she has no sense of what is current anymore. Let Go was a strong debut and Under My Skin was an absolutely incredible pop/rock album but she's been going downhill since. The Best Damn Thing was only redeemed by 'When You're Gone'. She suits either the real gritty Pop/Rock demonstrated in her first two albums or the vulnerable pop ballads. Her voice suits them if anything.
March 21, 201312 yr Author The song has been confirmed to be premiering on April 9th and also released to iTunes on the same day. It also says that "international dates may vary"!

March 30, 201312 yr Author Loving the new look! Really liking her new logo and font for 'Here's To Never Growing Up' as shown on all the promo images! I'm loving the snippet too, can't wait for the full thing! I don't know if this is the official artwork - I think it's just been created from the promo image that is advertising the radio premiere - but it shows the logo and the title font! :D http://25.media.tumblr.com/5fcdeb0aaca92560750f842f82c05248/tumblr_mkg38qhLIp1reowogo1_500.png
March 30, 201312 yr I swear she is one of those popstars who never seems to age. She is looking really good!
March 30, 201312 yr She looks utterly flawless. I'm having a bit of a renaissance with the last album at the minute. Wish You Were Here (should've been lead single), Push and Darlin' are excellent. I wish we had a full length Black Star.
March 31, 201312 yr 'Goodbye Lullaby' was definitely her 'My December'/'Try This'/'Blackout' equivalent I feel (it passed people by at the time, but it grew on people - although 'Try This' I've only ever heard twice so I can't comment on that one personally ) 'Wish You Were Here' really should have been performed the week she was on BGT! Not wasted on the older singles, 'What The Hell' and 'Smile'. :drama:
March 31, 201312 yr Author Goodbye Lullaby is by far my favourite Avril album, I still listen to it now!
March 31, 201312 yr Goodbye Lullaby is AMAZING. Minus the last couple of tracks. IMO Avril's discography is pretty impressive. She has some great B sides as well (Alone, I Don't Give, Get Over It). There are very few Avril tracks I would rate less than 8/10.
March 31, 201312 yr I've always quite liked her. Her first two albums are amazing, I still listen to them fairly regularly. Her Girlfriend/What The Hell songs grate on me so much though, despite quite liking them at the time!
April 2, 201312 yr Author Here's the official trailer for 'Here's To Never Growing Up'! Can't wait for the full song! EH-pIqoT1XY
April 2, 201312 yr When you have Carly Rae Jepsen doing what she does at the same age as Avril, Avril suddenly seems to be extremely grown up. She has the odd immature song, like What The Hell, but so does P!nk et all. Goodbye Lullaby had it's fair share of adult songs.
