April 8, 201312 yr I'm going to say James Arthur could be one to watch later in 2013. The success he's had internationally with 'Impossible' has even astonished me, so with his own (decent) material SiCo might well push him in America to be our second X Factor winner to get a #1 hit across the pond. Unless he had other ideas with Little Mix. Seeing 'Wings' top the American charts would be incredible.
April 9, 201312 yr Author Little Mix Wings isn't really picking up is it? But then again, unlike 1D, they haven't yet done a full on TV promo thing, just a bunch of radio stations so there is time hopefully. I was never expecting this to go #1 but I had thought top 20 at the very least!?
April 9, 201312 yr Author The success he's had internationally with 'Impossible' has even astonished me Its done incredibly well, hasn't it? It's gone 3xP in Australia and been in the top 10 there longer than it did in the UK.
April 9, 201312 yr Little Mix Wings isn't really picking up is it? But then again, unlike 1D, they haven't yet done a full on TV promo thing, just a bunch of radio stations so there is time hopefully. I was never expecting this to go #1 but I had thought top 20 at the very least!? To be fair it's still got very low airplay (which is climbing) and they haven't done major promo. I think they're doing alright so far but I think there's alot of expectations for them. I just can't see them being big in the US at all. Their image is too childish and their songs aren't good enough (besides Wings, so they might get a hit out of that). Plus they can't seem to decide if they're a Disney, girly girl band, a 90's retro old school group or a fierce r'n'b group. They look too young to be considered hot so they won't have any male attention either.
April 22, 201312 yr Brit acts currently on the iTunes Top 100:'Emeli Sande 'Next To Me' - (iTunes #24 - Hot 100 Airplay #41)Olly 'Troublemaker' - (iTunes #36 - Hot 100 Airplay #25)Muse 'Madness' - (iTunes #44)Mumford & Sons 'I Will Wait' - (iTunes #53 - Hot 100 Airplay #14)Calvin & Florence 'Sweet Nothing' - (iTunes #69 - Hot 100 Airplay #9)Calvin & Ellie 'I Need Your Love' - (iTunes #82)Little Mix 'Wings' - (iTunes #83)Ed Sheeran 'Lego House' - (iTunes #92)Olly 'Dance With Me Tonight' - (iTunes #97)
July 12, 201312 yr Author So have Little Mix given up on the US for now? No news of a 2nd single and "Wings" is gone :(
July 13, 201312 yr The Saturdays are apparently going back next year to release an album and "do it right" this time.
July 13, 201312 yr Bastille coming for that success. :D Their second US single is "Change Your Life". :manson: I was so sure that they would go for either DNA or How Ya Doin' seeing as though they are much more suited to the American market.
July 13, 201312 yr Author Yes, Bastille and Passenger are the next to watch out for.....! Hopefully "change your life" will do well, but the thing with these generic pop songs (that most X Factor alumni put out) depend greatly on the profile of the artist(s), and so far, LM don't have the kind of exposure that 1D have.
July 25, 201312 yr UK acts currently in US top 100 Itunes: 2. Best Song Ever - One Direction 6. Beneath Your Beautiful -Labrinth feat Emeli sande 8. Burn -Ellie Goulding 17. Everything Has Changed - Taylor Swift feat Ed Sheeran 28. I Need Your Love - Calvin Harris feat Ellie Goulding 47. I Love It - Icona Pop feat Charli XCX 92. Next To Me - Emeli Sande 95. November 21, 201311 yr Author The trend with British artists in the US these days is - more acts seem to be known these days than before (chances are more Americans know who Little Mix are than, say 5 yrs ago Girls Aloud). But after Adele and maybe 1D, there hasn't been that staple chart or radio hit by a British artist. They all seem to start fine, get fancy TV promos and race up the BB 100 and iTunes to peak inside the top 20 at best - Labrinth, Emeli Sande, Ed Sheeran, Ellie Goulding, etc. So whilst I'm happy Bastille cracked the top 50 and John Newman is Bubbling Under, I really won't be holding out for a top 10 position for either.
January 26, 201411 yr Currently 5 of the US itunes top 20 are British. 6. Bastille - Pompeii 11. Passenger - Let Her Go 12. Ellie Goulding - Burn 13. One Direction - Story of My Life 18. John Newman - Love Me Again Also 86. The 1975 - Chocolate 96. The Arctic Monkeys - Do I wanna Know?
