Very interesting lists, thanks for posting! No surprise many #1 charity singles didn't top the download chart. Wonder how many number ones which didn't reach number one on the download chart still reached number one on iTunes.
Embarrassing list from 2004  Seems strange that Rock Steady made #1 on the download chart! It definitely should have beaten the terminally crap cover 1-2 of The Rose and The Saints Are Coming. How did The Power Of Love not top the download chart exactly, did it have physicals?

Yeah, it did. Someone in the BPI Certification thread forgot too, myself included!

Yes she sold it through John Lewis stores- Clever girl!

Does the download chart include EP sales? It seems odd that 'Loca People' and 'Stay Awake' are in this list, or did they have physical copies out?

I did wonder about the 2011 ones but I double checked.....odd though

I think the download chart doesn't include digital EPs, it looks like Moves Like Jagger sold more individual downloads than Loca People and Stay Awake in their weeks but LP and SA's EP sales got them to #1 officially.

actually thinking about it both example and sak would have had 12" vinyl releases being dance records so maybe that made the difference?
