Ep 8 was alright. Don't know if there's going to be much confrontation at the end of this season. Khaleesi still has to get ships and sail half way across the world. Don't see that happening in two eps.

YES! You won't understand half of it if you haven't seen it from the off... Plus series one is just amazing.

This keeps on BLOWING UP.

Do I need to start at the beginning of Season 1?

As Dandy says definitely start with Season 1. You'll be confused as it is when you watch, never mind if you skip a season!

OH MY GOD

I kind of half expected what was going to happen towards the end, but did not see the final scene coming AT ALL. Sadness x 100

It was ALMOST as bad as the 'golden crown' scene, which is STILL engraved on my mind.

ALMOST?

Those last three seconds have SCARRED me for life.

That's true, but I think THAT scene was more powerful, at least for me because I wasn't used to the goings on in Westeros at that point.

Holy ....

Just as you think the show has stopped surprising you.

I knew it was coming, but my God that last scene was something else.

Reminded me of when 24 used to do the silent clock at the end for big moments.

I didn't know something like that was coming AT ALL (poor Talisa)

Daenerys, hurry up and 'show them no mercy', heh.

Even though I knew the Red Wedding was coming I still feel completely traumatised after seeing it. I don't think I breathed during the last 10 minutes.

SPEECHLESS.

Didn't think it would live up to the hype i've seen from people on FB and everywhere but oh dear. Images that won't be leaving my head any time soon.

I can't even find the words to express how epic that episode was!

The ending just blew me away!

Penultimate episode of the season is settling into a pattern of being the one where they take the part of the book where character(s) who we're (mostly) rooting for crash and burn.

Plenty of signposts throughout the season if you can pick up on them. Cersei's Rains Of Castamere speech being the obvious this time

I honestly don't really care for Robb so that didn't get to me, but Catelyn :(
Just watched it and :o at Catelyn!!! I've been expecting Robb to go for a while as it has felt like they haven't developed his character in ages - plus there have been lots of hints that the other Stark children were the keys to the North. Also, as far as good guys go, Robb just never captured my imagination so I never really wanted him to win enough for his death to have any impact on me.

What a change from last week!

I do so LOVE any Cersei/Tyrion scene, it's been so long since we had one that it felt extra brilliant. The rest was all very good though, even if it felt a little limp after the last 2 season finales. I did like the vague feeling of resolution, however temporary, for most of them. Poor Arya though, just when you think shit has got as bad as it can ever get, she finds a whole new level of f***ed up to sink to. I guess it's good though because it means we finally get a kick ass Stark (rather than a host of wet fish and Catelyn who never really got enough to do), but at the same time it's quite awful to watch.

I do kind of want the whole Theon/Ramsey thing to kick up a gear FAST next season though. Ramsey hasn't exactly been a great character this season for me, I mean Walder Frey did the whole pantomime villian thing 100 times better in a 3 minute scene this week. It just feels like, right now, it's not really going anywhere. Though I guess with Yara on her way it should do something, eventually.

How long does this Theon thing go on for? I've certainly not missed him being part of the past couple of episodes. And is there actually even a point to him being tortured?!!

(Oh and I'm gutted this is ending this evening. Series 4 NOW please)
