I wonder what you think: There are some articles and a picture about Rob's dad who is spending his Christmas alone with Phil Taylor providing him breakfast and keeping him company. It is known that Pete is suffering Parkinson and I can imagine that he is not able to fly even in a private jet.

Nevertheless for me it feels strange that Rob did not somehow manage to spend some time with Pete (as it seems also not before) with the possibility that this is his last Christmas. Sounds somewhat not right for me even if Pete would not want it different (or say so).

I think it’s incredibly unlikely that Rob and the family will not see his dad at all; it’s much more likely that -- like most familles who are scattered geographically - they have made separate arrangements to see him another time that we are simply not privy to.

And neither do we need to be. There’s also no indication that this will be Pete’s last Christmas - Parkinsons’s can be treated and patients can now live a long time with it.

Ayda’s mum Gwen is fighting cancer, as well as having Parkinson’s, don't forget. Arrangements for family Christmas will obviously also have to account for that too.

And it’s really not unusual to alternate Christmas Day with each side of the family each year.

I haven’t seen my parents in person at all this year - they both came down with COVID and have been isolating.

That’s how it goes sometimes.

Why would he call him "Robbie"?

You think it's a fake Laura  . Could be, you never know these days -_-

No I think it's genuine Tess as Ayda has had quite a few photos with him over the last couple of years -just seems really strange when the person he spent Christmas Eve was patently Rob not Robbie the on stage entertainer.

I've always thought it strange that Howard (from TT) still calls him Robbie too but at least they grew up together when RW had to be called Robbie so I guess it's hard to break the habit.

I do think it's strange that he (apparently) doesn't visit his Dad for so long (although of course we don't know the truth in that).

I do remember him saying that Pete likes a nice quiet, simple life, that he wouldn't move for many years out of his existing flat to somewhere "nicer". I know he did move a couple of years ago but it seems he likes a normal life away from all the noise and publicity.

I think there's no doubt of his love for his Dad. He's shown that many times and Pete is fiercely loyal to his son and daughter in law.

I guess the arrangement suits them both.

I do page past all the online posts showing their lavish Christmas/birthday arrangements though.

I think they're very grounded as a family and it just makes me feel sorry that he has to work so hard to financially sustain that kind of home life. I'm not interested (nor is it any of my business) so I scroll on past. :)

It's not unusual for a person to have different variations of the christian same , more often with family circles & close friends .

Wonder what he's doing with Louis Theroux?

Upcoming interview maybe . I very much like LT -_-

Happy new year to everyone. I hope it will be a good one, healthy and successful and less worrying than 2023.

Robbie-wise I am looking forward to what he does or will not do. I think the movie will be out this year and I really wish it to be successful. Will there be a new album? Will there be a tour 2025 for the album? Will he sing with Teddy? How ill Lufthaus continues and which of his many side projects will take place?

I am curious and isn't it great that he still can make us curious after such a long time in the business?

Ha! Yes Elisabeth -I'm still curious too - you never know what he is going to get up to next - that's what keeps me interested ^_^

I reckon he will sing with Teddy at Hyde Park in July ^_^
