Did you see them last night on Red Nose Day with James Cordon, very funny

Yes - they've had a good weekend with promo. :)

There's something about his height and size that I find really, really attractive

Is it coming near you Laura !!

I don't know Tess. I'm not interested in listening to other people singing TT songs. I didn't watch Let It Shine. Although having said that, I did go to the last TT musical a few years ago and it was good. GB has written some bangers. :)

I'm guessing they've all got a business stake in this new musical. They seem to be going all out to promo it. I wonder if Jason has too as they all have a part in the patent of the TT symbol/brand?

I was never big into TT , cannot remember them first time around ( too busy rocking to REM & Bryan Adams ) but having said all that they do have some great tunes & put on a very good show. My favourite is Never Forget , it's a great stadium song , I also like A Million Love Songs . Do you get the feeling Jason will not return to the band . I would think he would be entitled to any royalties from all TT music having being in the original band.

I was having my babies when TT were about in the 90s. That's why I got into Robbie as a solo artist later. I didn't really know anything about them. My head was in nappies. :arrr:

They've got some brilliant songs. I like nearly all their old stuff. My favourite moment from the Progress tour was when they all did Pray together. ^_^

I like Patience and Shine best of their TT4 stuff. TT5 - favourite The Flood and Eight Letters and Wait.

They have an incredibly loyal fan base as is borne out by their 109K sales of Wonderland this week. :)

I don't think Jason will ever return unless it's a for a one off TV/show special. It's not like he ever has to work again and if he's comfortable out of the spot light then good luck to him.

I have pondered why Robbie had done so much promo last year and ende up with 70,000 sold albums in the UK. Then I remeber that he has to speak to all the European journalists too and HES charted great in many countries, while Wonderland does go nowhere anywhere else (aside Ireland I guess), just Like III.

Why does the Brits relate to anything TT does, but no other country when Rob isnot with them, no matter if fans or critics? The hysteria was there in Germany and NL back in the 90ies too but only Rob succeeded. But we will never know. I love that they deal that well with each other these days and if it is only a business conept

Well they need to do promo to get the albums sold Elisabeth. Robbie automatically goes to these countries every album release. If TT did the same they'd sell. I think they are touring Australia this year so that will help the album.

Maybe they're just not interested in selling in other countries and they might have a point. How much promo does Robbie have to do to get round all these countries last year? He did three months solid for HES. September through to Christmas. Almost every day he was somewhere different. Solid. Maybe it's just not that important to them. They all have young families. Howard's just had another baby. I think Robbie feels the pressure terribly. Maybe TT have got the balance right.

What did you mean about 70,000 albums sold in UK? He's sold 330,000 in UK - didn't Better Man say? I think TT could well have better sales than that of Wonderland in UK in a few weeks time.

All that promo Robbie did was crazy given the length of time he did it in but I get he has signed the dotted line for the tour & I guess had no other choice as I guess he needs financial backing to put on these big shows so he has to do the appearances & do the hand shaking so I do not think the promo was necessarily to promote the album alone. Robbie knows his fanbase has dropped in the UK as he is only doing one gig but I thought the album had done quite well

To be honest I worry about Robbie touring in the future, his back problems seem to be getting worse & worse , i think it's his physical well being that will determine his future career rather than his popularity

I mean in the first week, Laura, Rob sold 70,000 in the first week and TT with far less promo 120,000.I Always think that they have a much more loyal fanbase in the UK than Rob has. It is like the first time you eat a certain product, the taste will stay with you the entire life and you will prefer it when it is on the market to the substitutes. Or Rob polarizes more. It is vice versa with TT and Robbie anywhere else. They tried promo for every album since the reunion, strong promoin between and never succeed. They did with Progress. It seems that Robbie transfers in other countries like Germany and NL or Italy far better for whatever reason than in his home country. Al is relative though as they all lose to the current act a lot. But after 25 years this is normal. But I think that there is a significant cut since 2013 and even 2015 and I think that the balance of the market bits that have been kept shows Rob still succeeding in Europe (Also ticket sales) but struggle in teh UK and TT vice versa for whatever reason. I have to say that I like Wonderland as far as I heard it and I also like HES but less than UTR 1
I also think that this is his last stadium tour aside of the 30 year unification with TT. I think that he will release music further, but will change his career to television.

Oh yes I see Elisabeth. Well yes - they did do much better. :) Like I say their fan base are very loyal.

I also think that this is his last stadium tour .

We talk about his putting himself under pressure - but who else would even attempt this? He could have just settled for an Arena tour and not had to worry about ticket sales but he goes for a stadium tour. That in itself requires a heavy promotional work load. It's almost like he can't help himself. He has to prove to himself he can do it.

Yes I worry about him too. I don't think he's ever been good at looking after himself.

But his insurers must have signed him off for the tour. They must be happy he can complete it?
