Turned Down By: Pink, Hillary Duff Recorded By: Kelly Clarkson

 

Dr. Luke and Max Martin originally teamed up to give P!nk another hit, and when she reportedly turned it down, they reached out to Hillary Duff. But the story goes that Clive Davis convinced the producers to give the song to Clarkson, who fashioned it into the centerpiece of her "Breakaway" and helped it sell 2.6 million downloads, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Poor Hilary Duff. Just imagine it with her vocals?! LOL.

 

Not surprised Kelly didn't get it straight away tbh. She was definitely marketed more as a "soul" singer from her debut album. I'm presuming that Clive piped up and decided pop rock was the way to go for her after 'Low' was considered a highlight by many reviewers/Kelly's fans, possibly? I'd love to hear P!nk cover it though. :wub:

I can only imagine Kelly singing this tbh, although a P!nk verison would be coool

Much as it's an amazing pop/rock song, I can't imagine it as a Pink song.
