The first half of the album is so painfully average, found it pretty boring until Girl With a Diamond Heart, which is definitely my favourite. It was mostly good from then until the end :D (not heard the deluxe tracks yet)

There you go. Stay pressed.

It's obvious the album doesn't even have one radio hit left, but Jesus,
that doesn't mean the songs are any less incredible
.

The lyrics are amazing, same for the lush vocals themselves and the layering, there are things to discover each time with the production, and it just feels like a real body of work from her for once.

Of course 'Killer Love' had higher highs in terms of commercial everyday electro-pop bob, but this properly feels like a Nicole album from start to finish. It feels like it's what she wanted to put out as an artist and I'm glad she did even if it flops (which I think it will, very much sadly).

It's extremely cohesive, moody and atmospheric and definitely less pop than her previous effort, so I understand why it would be less appreciated by some of you. I can only suggest you to give the album a few more chances. There aren't many proper hooks, but you will see how some parts definitely get catchy and infectious with time...

As I said, there isn't much left she could release that would certainly grab the attention of radio stations.
'Electric Blue'
and
'First Time'
are a bit more urban and representative of the album, so she could choose from one of these two if she wants to sell that side of the album. If she wants to keep on lying on fooling the public, then
'God of War'
or
'Girl With a Diamond Heart'
are still quite pop and are definitely gems. In fact, they are all amazing, but I still doubt any of them would get half of the airplay of
'Your Love'
sadly.

Finally, the bonustracks
definitely
are bonustracks. They are more average and basic, definitely less moody and atmospheric than the rest of the album. Enjoyable, for sure, but the album works perfectly as a 11-tracks affair.

8.6/10

Great album, basically.

great review ^^

This is real Nicole Scherzinger album not Killer Love type of sound, even though that type fits her perfectly, but urban Nicole is what I like of her the most!

i dont think it's being unappreciate because it's less pop, it's just not very good imo anyways.
Yeah, this definitely seems like more of a grower which isn't something I've come to expect from her. I was hoping for something a bit more instant. But now that I've given it a few more listens I really love Big Fat Lie in addition to God of War/Your Love/On The Rocks which I liked initially. Girl With A Diamond Heart is nice too.

My boyfriend is obsessed.

His preorder arrived on Saturday morning and I've heard the album about 10 times.

It's actually really good. On The Rocks is the worst song.

So in a moment of madness I bought this today
Good news for Nicole is that even the smaller Tesco stores which sell CDs actually are stocking this. So it might get some casual buyers.
Listening through now, it's actually a nice listen through. 'On The Rocks' is hitting me in such a massive way at the moment though! :o I honestly think it's going to be one of my favourites from her, pretty soon! :o

'On The Rocks' has fully connected with me in the last week and it's incredible.

It's such a shame that this is going to miss the top 15 in the album chart, although she got a massive turn out in Manchester for her signings and HMV sold out apparently. Her label have not even managed to get her an advert / banner on iTunes for 'Big Fat Lie'.

She really needs to announce single three quick in order to hope that the album stays around, I'm praying that if 'Run' is promoted well as she done no promo for 'On The Rocks' that it could actually help the album pass 100,000.

She's not doing anything major worldwide on iTunes

Still growing on me, I feel like Cold World, Electric Blue and Heartbreaker could mash my mind a bit more, just need some time yet

I heard this album and it's not as bad as I was expecting. :o

'Electric Blue' is by far the non-single standout, and a few others aren't bad (God Of War, Girl With... and the title track), although some of the lyrics on this album did give me wide eyed moments.

Why the hell was 'On The Rocks' released?

I really like Your Love but On the Rocks was extremely boring on first listen. Also Big Fat Lie is a really bad name for an album tbh :P Also I haven't heard Boomerang haha

'On The Rocks' please (I doubt it and it'll be 'Run' but praying!!!!!).

I'm really loving OTR like you have no idea how much right now! So good.

I adore 'On The Rocks' but she needs to move on. She's had a number of promo slots and it's still not doing anything :(

She needs to wow the audience and I think Run could do it.

I think 'Run' could seriously help her album and I'm delighted that she's got a confirmed slot. She shot the video for 'Run' this week. I'm actually gutted that 'On The Rocks' peaked at 90 because it's seriously a massive grower. I do think if Nicole also got a Children In Need performance it could help 'Run' at least manage top 15 following an x-factor performance with a new peak in the album charts?

It looks like Nicole will be lucky to see her album debut in the top #20 come Sunday as her album has dropped to #15 in one day within the midweeks and has dropped to #26 on iTunes after being #17 earlier today.
