Posted March 9, 201312 yr A former #1 hit in Belgium, Netherlands, Sweden and currently #1 in Ireland - this song gives off Gotye vibes in a good way, I do like the singers voice. It has the potential to be a massive hit but what do you think this song will do in the charts? I predict top 3, with good longevity. RBumgq5yVrA Currently top 200 on iTunes. March 9, 201312 yr It all depend on whether radio play it - if so then anything is possible its a very commercial song with lyrics which many single buyers would love. saw him on tour with ed sheeran and he was great!!
March 9, 201312 yr saw him on tour with ed sheeran and he was great!! Yeah, I'd say he's the best support act I've ever seen so hope he can do well, top 5 would be nice and seems possible with how it's done elsewhere.
March 9, 201312 yr Pretty much love this, I love the ending, #1 would be nice, at a push I say top 3.
March 9, 201312 yr Top 100 - but possibly not even that high It was released in January and has done nothing If it starts getting played then maybe it can eventually chart but at the moment i'm doubtful
March 9, 201312 yr With radio support then this will be a massive hit, at least top 3 I'd say. Its the type of song radio would love (especially like Heart and Radio 2). The fact that its top 200 on itunes with no small shows it has potential, its just a question of IF it will get pushed.
March 11, 201312 yr If there is any justice at all it will be a number 1 hit, in reality, it will probably flop.
March 11, 201312 yr Basically if this gets picked up by radio or gets featured in an advert or something then it will be huge. But otherwise it will probably be Top 100. Which would be a shame actually, as it's a really nice song.
March 11, 201312 yr Top 10 also in Germany but nowhere in his home country? :o :( It's a bit like Hurts, they are quite big in Germany but nowhere in the UK.
March 11, 201312 yr The UK market is completely different to many European countries but Ireland have shown time and time again that they're more like Europe in this respect too. Here the radio stations and music channels practically dictate what you listen to. That's why Passenger has so far failed to make any impact on the UK charts. I guess DJ's in Ireland pay more attention to European charts, see what's popular and give it airplay. In the 80s Radio 1 DJ's did that but back then Radio 1 DJ's seemed genuinely interested in the music (especially John Peel for example) whereas the current crop are all about their egos (imagine Nick Grimshaw promoting the next big European hit!!! :D ) So yes, if 'Let Her Go' starts to benefit from radio airplay leading to increased video airplay then it'll soon rocket up iTunes.
March 20, 201312 yr Nice enough song but don't think this'll do much chart wise. Would've done better 7/8 years ago IMO.
March 23, 201312 yr It's also on top of the Aussie iTunes chart (which I always look at for music I haven't heard of because I like the Aussie's taste in music). Top 10 I reckon. Edited March 23, 201312 yr by Jackcos
March 24, 201312 yr What country is he/they from? He's from the UK I really do hope and believe now that this will get pushed here in a couple of months. Surely being #1 in Ireland, Germany, Austria, Sweden, Belgium and next week Australia will hopefully convince the label to push it. IF it does, there's not a doubt in my mind now that it would reach #1.
April 4, 201312 yr This is now No.1 in Australia - really hoping it can pick up some radio support in the UK now.
April 24, 201312 yr Author Bumping this thread as this song is finally happening in the UK! But how high will it peak? I still think top 3 but it could easily get a week in at #1.
April 24, 201312 yr Wonder WHY it is happening now though. Apparently Heart has playlisted it but the major youth stations havent and yet its going up 10 places a day on itunes should be top 10 within 2 official charts?! Possible no1 in 2/3 weeks? Hopefully radio 1/capital playlist it this week!!
