February 6, 201411 yr That's not for the album so I wouldn't worry about the use of autotune. Other than that it only happened on the Hard Out Here chorus, in an ironic way. Oh I thought it was on the new album as well, don't know why!
February 6, 201411 yr i LOVE me some lily but she seems to be descending into M.I.A. mimicry with this record it's disappointing that an artist with such an idiosyncratic musicality has gone this way, though it's easy to see how Everything sounds a bit like she was held at gunpoint and given thirty minutes to write a new album, basically.
February 6, 201411 yr Everything sounds a bit like she was held at gunpoint and given thirty minutes to write a new album, basically. indeed you can see why she "retired" from music. she's settled down in marital bliss in the country, doesn't leave much to sing about does it?
February 6, 201411 yr Author I'd like so much to disagree with you as I'm a massive Lily fan, but this and Air Balloon have been a little disappointing. I still have high hopes for the album, though.
February 20, 201411 yr Author So Air Balloon has massively grown on me, though I still don't think it should've been a single. Here's the lyric video to L8 CMMR, which is pretty amazing if you ignore the auto-tune: ii3XMEVUhhM
February 21, 201411 yr I'm really not a fan, can't even see the funny side. Would have worked as a kooky song title perhaps, but to head the whole album makes it all seem tacky and gimmicky. I'm willing to give the music a chance and am praying she delivers there (which is what really matters) but at the moment I'm drifting further and further away from it all.
February 21, 201411 yr I actually like it, I realise it doesn't sound very serious but it's both witty and expressive of potential content - feminism is the theme of at least one song to date. At least it's not "Lily Allen" or something.
February 21, 201411 yr How witty is taking a full existing concept developed by another artist and simply adding "she" in front of it (thus making it apparently about feminism all of a sudden)?
February 21, 201411 yr How witty is taking a full existing concept developed by another artist and simply adding "she" in front of it (thus making it apparently about feminism all of a sudden)? I do not know why you are so surprised, this title has Lily written all over it. And yes the feminist connection is clearly there, she hardly added the 'She' for no reason.
February 21, 201411 yr I do not know why you are so surprised, this title has Lily written all over it. And yes the feminist connection is clearly there, she hardly added the 'She' for no reason. Well i'm not denying that the "She" refers to feminism or the female or whatever, i just think there's much more effective ways of going about that. See 'It's Not Me, It's You' which was a witty way of subverting a saying which usually works as man -> woman. This is cheap.
