...and indeed Pink has made #2. Incredible really when the track didn't look like it was going to do anything about 6 weeks ago. :lol: I wasn't really fussed whether this was #1 or not as I do like the fact that PJ & Duncan are the official UK #1. Weird to think when I first started doing my own chart in the summer of 1994, 'LGRTR' made my top 10 back then (peaked at #5 iirc). :lol:

When I first heard this in December, I instantly thought this was a massive hit in the making. It's on the verge of going top 50 in the US which means it'll probably take off in Canada next. If it does become a worldwide hit, I get the impression it'll only become a hit here once it's taken off everywhere else and become a 'Loca People' style hit here (#1 that plummets down fast rather than sticking around for a few months but doesn't get to #1)

As far as X Factor singles go, I always find the Australian winner's single much more refreshing than the UK. Stan Walker 'Black Box' made my top 20 and 'WYDTM' sounds like the type of song that could do well over the world given the right amount of airplay and exposure. Just look at how well James Arthur has done with 'Impossible - I don't think anyone saw that level of instant success coming. :o

 

I reckon there are a few songs here you've not heard but would enjoy.

Yeah, that's right. They were previously called 21 Demands. If their single got to #1 in Ireland in 2007, I'm sure they definitely will have the Irish support for their new album, which I'm sure will be a classic. :D

 

It might be on YouTube actually - not actually checked but it's most likely to be posted by someone. The video to 'Alive' was only uploaded towards the end of 2012 so you might've charted it then? It is a brilliant club track though. :D

 

Yeah, Kodaline are bound be huge this time round if they were already popular enough to get a #1 in Ireland 6 years ago when nobody really knew them (in the UK anyways).

13. I really like 'Attracting Flies' and its aiming for my top 10 - might get there next week. Would be ace if this track can eventually take off and become a hit to some extent.

 

19. 'Recover' is a great track although I must admit I prefer their hit 'Lies' more. However, it looks like Chvrches is just not going to take off which is a shame as I like their style.

'Alive' is a brilliant track, adored it pretty much from the first time I heard it. Remember I wanted to confirm this in BJSC but Ryan beat me to it - it's a Batidas entry in spirit. :lol:

I don't have Pink's album so the first time I heard this was when it went to #1 in Australia and I was intrigued. Needless to say, I think it's a wonderful track - one that I bought weeks ago when it was still only in the 30s on iTunes. Really didn't think it'd take off after 'Try' peaked at #8. Thought if anything, this would've scraped into the top 10 for one week. My top 2 have been quite a bit ahead of everything else though for the last few weeks.

Justin Timberlake has never actually had a #1 in my chart. His previous best was 'SexyBack' which peaked at no. 5 so 'Mirrors' has actually become his highest peaking. It's also sticking around relatively well. Just a shame I've found the video to be quite disappointing (I usually end up watching the music channels first thing in the morning :lol: )

'MSKWYDITD' is a great track. Most likely would've done well in my chart if it wasn't so dominated by BJSC. :D 'The Phoenix' is also great but I do prefer 'My Songs...' more.

Once you score a #1 hit in Germany, they will always love you. :lol: It seems weird but I really think it's true when you consider acts like Melanie C, James Blunt, Depeche Mode etc... have continued to be successful there whilst the home crowd couldn't care less.

I also haven't a clue where he's come from. Even more shocking he's made the top 10 with his debut with only video airplay as far as I can tell.
