Capital have not played the song once all day, they've played 'What About Us' twice, John Newman and Icona's pop song three times, I think 'Gentleman' has only been playlisted because their performing at their ball.

I'm starting to change my mind about the success of this song, especially if it's released on DEATH WEEK. I think that it'll peak in the lower regions of the Top 10 now, which would be somewhere between #7-10.

Yeah I'm a bit concerned now as well. The pre-orders and YouTube views are what is worrying me the most. :(

 

 

It's 1 million + dude. How can that be worrying considering higher/ego or missing you only got to a million when they were released. There are still 3/4 more weeks left so its still being noticed

edit - yeah they're over 1 million views but the thing is, now they're only getting about 30K views a day.

It does seem to have slowed down but its probably getting 100k a day which is okay. And you know, maybe capital will just suddenly begin to rape the song to death :P

They really are TERRIBLE at choosing when to release aren't they? :lol: I know this was almost certainly planned before Icona Pop, John Newman etc. decided to release onthe same day, or at least the team wouldn't have known that, but only The Sats could have this luck! I'm still thinking #6 or #7 should be very possible on fanbase but I have this horrible niggling feeling that it might peak at #11 or #12, which would terrible again for a pre-album single - especially after a #1!

if they are smart they should ACT now! and cancel the release - saying rochelles pregnancy/frankies pregnancy and say that it will be included on the album in september, then release a new single, with this as the bside/or like the old school doubleA in sept!!

They can't cancel the release now, don't be ridiculous. It's had enough promotion and airplay for the public to take the song seriously as a single, it's too late to pull out now.

I think the success of 'What About Us' has proven only too well that the charts are unpredictable and we don't know for sure where things will chart.
