Why is there a difference between the lyric video version and the version played on radio? Is that just a radio quality 'thing' or? It sounds much stronger and 'in your face' on the radio after tuning in this morning.

I also think they should have listed off a few British guys in that roll call part of the song too. Now they'll just get the same old people bitching saying 'they're so desperate for a US hit' etc etc.

When do we think the video will be out?

I'm guessing next week, The Wanted are releasing one week before them and released the video this week. I have high hopes for the video. Hopefully it manages to help The Saturdays edge closer towards 100million YouTube views.

I don't think Gentleman will be getting a release in the US, it's quite frustrating as they should be announcing a second single in the US. (Higher)

Even worse in high quality. Now i can actually make out the lyrics and those name-drops properly. Ugh. I SO want to like it, but it's not happening.

The music video had better be good though.

So the lyric video has been blocked here in Canada (I assume the same goes for the US) So great news, the song will not be released here. I'm just PRAYING that Higher or All Fired Up will be released as a next single. I really hope Mercury just gives them another chance with a proper radio tour & promotion to back them up.
it is cheesy as hell however and couldnt be more of a girls aloud ripoff if it tried but i actually kinda like this... oops.

Girls Aloud could nevah.

It feels like a total mess. I'll have to see which way it grows but it's their worst single... since 30 Days. That's supposed to sound worse than it is.

Maybe it could be catchy later. Certainly not one of their best.

Something New >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Gentleman

(I rly like Gentleman for the record)

'Something New' is easily the best Girls Aloud song, the rest are all painfully average.
It's SO SO SO try hard but really not very good. The chorus is limp and forgettable, but the verses are quite nice and melodic.
The live performance will be fantastic. I think this is the girls best chance to show their personality and show fierceness, it makes sense as a single. I do agree with the decision to move the album as I think their team have agreed that Gentleman is not the best way to sell the album.
I want to love this, but I just... can't.

I guess it's over then?

Just don't get the hate for it on here, if they released NGUOL we would have 'agggh it's soo generic and a nonevent'

I like this quite a lot.

First of all, it sounds nothing like The Saturdays (which is ALWAYS a bonus) and the verses and chorus are really slick and interesting as well. The strucutre is a MESS, but when you get past that, it's actually brilliant.

I have no idea where it'll chart. Top 15 is a definite though.

GRIFF RATING: 7/10

I can see teenage girls loving this and posting the lyrics on Facebook/Twitter all the time etc. It's suprisingly very radio friendly and i'm sure the video will get a ton of attention. It could be pretty massive actually.

This. :( I just listened in HQ, and I really want to like it as there's not a Saturdays single that I don't like. But, this is just so bad - it's supposed to feel fun, but sort of feels lifeless despite this. Weak hook, barely even a melody, awful American accents, awful lyrics - still very disappointed.

BTW this single cover is atrocious, I'm sorry...

Una, Vanessa and Frankie really don't look that good...

The accompanying video sees the five-piece dress up as glamorous housewives and their male love interests in masculine suits and hats.

This is from the singles Wikipedia page. If this is true it could be quite a fun video, so I can see the girls as the men and the reported lookalikes for the housewives :o
