The fact they reduced the price on German iTunes is NO good. The charts are based on gross revenue. :(

It'll get more people to buy it though >>>>> Profit :D

Yeah, they do more money which is obviously good, but in terms of chartrun (Lee, I'm looking at you!) it's not good. :P

Plus, I don't think it needed a price reduction.

Rudimental just sent out a Tweet saying they're the biggest selling song of 2013 (i assume they mean fastest selling).

Uhh. Didn't The Sats sell 7K more?

The Majority of German iTunes is 0.69 though, there's 6 songs in the top 10 that are 0.69!

Aaawkwaaaard

this is awks... We should correct them XD

Down to #15 on iTunes, Combined is #17 on iTunes.

As I said earlier, compared to previous number ones the chart run is quite funny, the only reason it's not going to be a non number one is due to their first week sales.

It's going to have six weeks in the top 20, so no even if it had average first week sales it wouldn't be a non number one. We've had #1's in the past that only had six weeks top 40.

EDIT - there's always a chance the Lovable Rogues will go into freefall during the week and I'm still waiting on Psy/Daft Punk having a plummet.

I'm not even going to argue. -_-

I don't get your problem. People are allowed to have opinions, my opinion is that it's chart run is a bit disappointing when you compare it against other number ones (which is truthful). I'm not saying it's had a crap chart run, I'm saying it's frustrating to see it drop 4-5 places a week. I'm personally disappointed with the chart run, they've been dark red all day and should fall to around 17 tomorrow and 19 combined, behind Little Mix & Imagine Dragons.

The attitude on some people in this forum is terrible. It was so much better last year, people weren't shot down for having opinions. One of my main aim's are to bring more users to this forum, however the majority of the users seem afraid to come into here.

You're allowed to have a debate within the site. My opinion is that the chart run COULD be better and it's frustrating that the girls always seem to stop promoting once the single is out, they could have helped this single remain stable by promoting.

I agree with Lee tbh. In comparison to many #1 hits, its chart run so far has been kind of average. Though compared to previous Saturdays chart runs, it's a miracle. ;)

Comparing the first five weeks, best to worst. (I'm taking into account the first week of full availability for post-album singles):

06-04-05-09-12 [issues]

01-03-04-08-13 [What About Us]

05-06-07-13-18 [up]

09-14-11-13-19 [Ego]

02-03-04-14-20 [Just Can't Get Enough]

03-05-15-21-22 [All Fired Up]

03-07-11-16-26 [Missing You]

10-15-20-20-31 [Higher]

08-13-19-25-36 [if This Is Love]

02-08-14-23-37 [Forever Is Over]

22-35-37-36-47 [Work]

07-17-30-66-99 [30 Days]

'Notorious' isn't very comparable due to its release being OA/OS. Technically its first 5 weeks of full availability is: 21-18-21-28-31. Taking into account the first four weeks of only a download being available, it's: 08-21-33-26-21.

'My Heart Takes Over' wasn't in the Top 200 in its 5th week.

I'm just glad this hasn't been a Twilight part 2. Hey, they're going to nab a :gold: single so all is good. :)

Did you take into consideration multiple factors that can explain why these songs you're claiming to have a better chartruns actually had these "not disappointing chartruns" unlike What About Us?

Find me, hmm I don't know, 5-10 #1 chartruns that fit The Saturdays pattern and I'll agree with you.

That means a song that went to #1 from an act that was never really big in the UK (and never was popular outside of the country), that had similar airplay to What About Us (for example, Mirrors having a better chartrun than What About Us is no surprise when it's still #1 on the airplay), that didn't have any amazing promo slots, that was released in the Q1-Q2 (sales climate is a very important factor), that was released less than one year ago, and yeah, these seem like the general factors you have to take into consideration if you want to compare chartruns.

Because you know, I agree with you, that PURELY based on chartruns (so, you know, just a couple of #s beside eachothers), What About Us chartrun is "average" or "a bit disappointing" if you compare it to Mirrors or Thrift Shop. Purely based on these numbers. But then, The Saturdays never were #1 on the airplay with 89m impact for months or never were international stars, or #1 on the US iTunes with huge hype around their song, etc. That is the "factors" part.

My opinion is that the chart run COULD be better and it's frustrating that the girls always seem to stop promoting once the single is out, they could have helped this single remain stable by promoting.

Well sorry, my bad then. This is not what I understood. I thought you meant it was disappointing, not that it could be better.

That chartrun : "01-01-01-01-03-06" is not disappointing, I think we can all agree about this, right? But that chartrun coud be better and look like : "01-01-01-01-01-01". A chartrun could be better, yes, but it doesn't mean it's disappointing in the first place.

I think you've been a good poster, but watch the manner you speak in. People are having a debate and being patronising is not the way around it. Watch your attitude or you will not be permitted to post within here again, it's not the first time there's been an issue with yourself.

Thankyou.

Well the nice thing is this should also get a slight boost when Gentleman is released and then an even bigger boost when the album drops.

I agree, I think it will manage over 20 weeks top 100 hopefully!

That whole thing between wall and hurricane just confused me completely. I agree that the chart run has been very disappointing though. I mean 1-3-4 seems like a typical number 1 fall, but, 1-3-4-8-13 seems a bit more like The Saturdays usual chart run. Sad Times that even with a number 1 track, they cant have an amazing chart run :(
