I'm sure it's going to be rather close! Knowing our luck they will end up at #41. The xFactors winners single should overtake them as should One Direction, Miley Cyrus. Eminem/Rihanna might overtake them and Lily Allen should overtake them.
December 5, 201311 yr Fingers crossed. Have they had. Year end top 40 hit yet? According to wikipedia, Up - #113 Issues - #82 JCGE - #68 Nothing else is listed, but I'm sure Notorious and All Fired Up were on the YE chart (though fairly low down). Also, surely Ego and Higher would have been on there too? 34 - 34 - 390,400 - David Guetta ft Ne-Yo & Akon - Play Hard - 445,500 - 22/09/12 - 6 35 - 35 - 383,400 - Saturdays - What About Us - 383,400 - 30/03/13 - 1 36 - 36 - 380,300 - Jessie J - Wild - 380,300 - 08/06/13 - 5 37 - 38 - 363,400 - Jason Derulo - Other Side - 363,400 - 29/06/13 - 2 38 - 37 - 363,100 - Calvin Harris ft Tinie Tempah - Drinking From The Bottle - 436,600 - 10/11/12 - 5 39 - 39 - 352,900 - James Arthur - Impossible - 1,249,900 - 22/12/12 - 1 40 - 40 - 347,800 - Nelly - Hey Porsche - 347,800 - 16/03/13 - 6 So they have just over 3 weeks to remain in the top 40. Eminem/Rihanna might overtake them and Lily Allen should overtake them. 1D, I think it'll be close because their sales will probably drop off quite quickly the next few weeks. I think it'll be very close and they will either just take over or just miss out. The others will almost definitely take over unless they have some random sales crash or The Saturdays get a random sales spike! Basically looking at #39-#41 for YE then! December 5, 201311 yr I thought it had already left the YTD-40 so I'm chuffed. I think a Top 50 entry would be so fantastic considering they don't seem to have ever gotton that high before. But yes, it would be magical if they stayed in the top 40
December 6, 201311 yr 2008 71st - Up 142nd - If This Is Love 2009 68th - Just Can't Get Enough 82nd - Issues 113th - Up 125th - Forever Is Over 183rd - Work 2010 86th - Ego 89th - Higher 108th - Missing You 2011 115th - All Fired Up 123rd - Notorious 2013 To Date 35th - What About Us My Heart Takes Over didn't finish Top 200 in 2011. 30 Days didn't finish Top 200 in 2012. Gentleman isn't in the current Top 75 best sellers of 2013. Disco Love isn't in the current Top 75 best sellers of 2013.
December 6, 201311 yr I cannot, infant I refuse to believe only one song they've released is good enough to chart top 4 year end!! :o :snif:
December 7, 201311 yr And it was due to the momentum that was built up, prior to its release. :) Before every release, there should be something like that...
December 9, 201311 yr I REALLY want them to get a Brit nomination but can see them just missing out.
December 10, 201311 yr Shame they didn't do it last week prior to the performance but oh well. It being 59p will be a huge bonus with the TOTP performance/gift card week effect.
December 10, 201311 yr It might actually pass 400,000 by the end of the year! Especially if it's 59p when people are using their gift cards! It will only make an impact if it's advertised within the 59p singles though!
December 10, 201311 yr They are just doing a 'Christmas Songs' section for 59p at the moment, unfortunately. Do artists ever have more than one song in the section?
December 10, 201311 yr It's still going the wrong way on itunes though. The only one climbing is Disco Love.
December 10, 201311 yr If they'd performed Disco Love they'd have been in the top 50 on iTunes now, I reckon - At least both versions of the album are in the top 1000 on iTunes now. Not that that warrants many sales at all, but they hadn't been in it for some while. Edited December 10, 201311 yr by joepassmore
December 12, 201311 yr 34 34 391,000 David Guetta ft Ne-Yo & Akon Play Hard 446,100 22/09/12 6 35 35 383,700 Saturdays What About Us 383,700 30/03/13 1 36 36 380,900 Jessie J Wild 380,900 08/06/13 5 37 37 364,200 Jason Derulo Other Side 364,200 29/06/13 2 38 38 363,500 Calvin Harris ft Tinie Tempah Drinking From The Bottle 437,000 10/11/12 5 39 43 358,837 Eminem ft Rihanna Monster 358,837 09/11/13 1 40 39 354,800 James Arthur Impossible 1,251,700 22/12/12 1 Still looking tight. They should hopefully sell at least 1k this week, so hopefully up to 385k soon enough. Next week probably just half of that though and then gift card week, hopefully at least 7k. Probably end the year on 392k realistically and just about holding top 40 YE?
December 12, 201311 yr Are they still eligible for a Brit nomination? That'll give them more sales during the Brits when the song nomination is played even if they don't win.
December 12, 201311 yr Are they still eligible for a Brit nomination? That'll give them more sales during the Brits when the song nomination is played even if they don't win. They usually pick the top 15 best sellers I think for Best British Single. At the moment, they're the 12th best British selling single of the year. I think 1D (Story of My Life) and Lily Allen could overtake them. But they should hopefully just make it on to the list of nominees!
