A year has now passed since CianS has quit posting the hate chart due to low interest. Sadly he doesn't post often in the forums anymore, so if there are a good amount of yes voters I will be the new host unless Cian is passionate about hosting it again.

For the new posters who are not familiar with the Hate Chart, here are the basic rules. Every week, from the official top 75, you choose 5 songs that you dislike and rank them, giving more hate points to your least favourite song. You can also take away a hate point to a song you think is getting too much hate. The host then counts up the points to make the chart that will be posted next week.

So what do you think Buzzjack? Is it time to revive the classic chart forum game after a year in the bin? Or are we still not interested?

If there is enough interest, I will start this Sunday.

I'd say yes, but with a format change to perhaps make more people bother with it. I don't have any ideas on exactly what though, I'm sure others will :P
YES - I was actually thinking about this myself recently, looks like you got there before me. I'd love to see it return though.
Maybe you should limit it to the Top 40 instead? That would gain more interest.

I'm not sure that'd even be enough really. Top 75 gives a bigger range of songs. I would even expand it to the top 100 personally!

I was going to restart the Hate Chart myself at the start of the year but I forgot about it. Would definitely like to see a return (and would also expand it to the top 100). Maybe you could run a Love Chart alongside it using the same premise.

Thanks for all your suggestions. I personally think expanding it to the top 100 is a good idea, it gives people more choice. A lovechart could work too.

Ah Thermometer, I'm always lurking around Buzzjack somewhere. :P

I'd love to see the Hate chart back. I found the problem was because there are so many songs and only 5 songs you could vote for, a 3 pointer could get to number 14 during a week where loads of votes are spread.

Maybe have a top 7 or 8?

I also thought of an Idea that you are allocated 30 hate points and you can decide to disperse them as you wish but you had to vote for a minimum of 4/5 songs.

So they could give 5 songs 6 points or maybe split 6 songs 10, 8, 4, 4, 2, 2 or even 30 songs 1 point.

I do think love points or negative points for songs you like are a good idea because it helps you save your fav from being at the top.

I really enjoyed doing the hate chart, last year I had a whole spreadsheet on who voted for what so that at the end of the year I was going to post a year-end chart per user

e.g. Thermometer's most hated

then during the main year-end countdown show the breakdown of the votes e.g.

Chris Brown - Yeah 3x

42 Person X

31 Person Y

So feel free if you want any of those ideas but I always get carried away with things so I understand if you don't want to spend too much of you're time on it.

I'll be going to Chicago for about a third of this year and won't be on Buzzjack so it would be stupid for me to take it on at the moment.

I'll happily pass the gauntlet over to you now. :D

I look forward to it.

Don't they have the internet in Chicago? :o

I like the idea of dispersing of 30 points to 5 tracks or more, if this was idea was taken up, there would have be a track limit or else someone will give 30points to 1 track only.

It will make a great comeback with the right format, it was sad to see it go at the time, as not many members were applying to it, probably it work better to remain unpinned though, so its easily to step on.

They do but I'll probably have to go to internet café's for it and I wouldn't want the responsibility of the Hate Chart every Sunday while I'm away.

Yeah I was thinking a 5 track minimum, but then I suppose someone could just divide it up 26, 1, 1, 1, 1. Make the maximum 12 or something?

Sounds interesting. I reckon limit it to the top 20 or something though so that it changes more each week. Otherwise it's quite obvious that the number 1 will be number 1 for weeks when 1D, Pitbull, Flo Rida hang around the top 75 for ages...
