Together we'll both find a way, to make a pure love work in a dirty way

| 30 // Electric Chapel // Born This Way // 6.39

| 31 // Highway Unicorn (Road 2 Love) // Born This Way // 6.36

| 32 // The Lady is a Tramp // Duets II // 6.34

Covering a 1930's showtune, alongside her idol, Tony Bennett, Gaga scored not only a beautiful duet in

, but also the potential for a whole album together in the near future (though not before ARTPOP comes around i hope - get well soon please etc). Showcasing her jazzy / tuneful side, the song doesn't really garner much hate and so manages a very respectable entry here.

A real underrated highlight from Gaga's catalogue, it only took the opening to the Born This Way Ball, a gigantic robotic unicorn, a life-defining Alien costume and some snazzy half-naked dancers to make me fall in love with

. The highlight of the night? Maybe. Just maybe. As an album track with that POWERHOUSE of an opener, you know it means business. It doesn't go as far as i would have liked, but the chorus alone puts it above a fair few of the other songs on the album.

Sneaking into the top 30 is yet another monster album track from BTW, as

rocks its way into the chart. For the instrumental alone, this deserves to smash. With quite a sweet sentiment behind it, the track really is Gaga letting it all out in exceptional style.

Both 'Electric Chapel' and 'Teeth' should have been much higher. They're my favorite of hers.

Pretty sure something overrated will win :drama:

Starstruck! The song's a CLEAR TEN WOT. And Hair!

I gave it an 11 why didn't you mention me

Oooops. Didn't think anyone was fierce enough to give it an 11, but yes you did. Edited in for you :P

As long as least 3 of these are in the top ten I'll rest easy:

Bloody Mary

SheiBe

Monster

Dance In The Dark

Heavy Metal Lover

Poker Face (this obviously will be).

You know it won't. :P
One can hope, right? RIGHT?

But yeah I know it won't. :P I do hope it can come top 5 though!

'Highway Unicorn (Road To Love)' is so under appreciated. Always has been a highlight from the album for me. It's like a lesser 'Poker Face', without it sounding too weak. 'Electric Chapel' is decent enough, but she has better. 'The Lady Is A Tramp' is neither here nor there for me. A respectable finish for it I guess.

EDIT: Lovely write ups though Haus

Don't ask me how or why, but I'm gonna make it happen this time

| 27 // The Fame // The Fame // 6.65

| 28 // Vanity // Free release // 6.61

| 29 // Beautiful, Dirty, Rich // The Fame // 6.42

Perhaps the most seminal song in the countdown,

really did kick-start Stefani's career, and she herself considers it to the be first ever Lady Gaga record (she was behind the songwriting, producing, concept, melody etc of it all). The song follows her life during the cannabis-induced pre-Fame days, and is also the song that gave birth to The Fame as a theme for the debut album. And with an even more fierce entrance onto the scene in the opening of the official music video, it makes Just Dance seem piss-tame in comparison.

Despite being cut from the original release of The Fame, and despite being a fairly under-the-rader tune,

still manages a top 30 entry here. It's no surprise though as it's another cute, clunky, jazzy number that perfectly channels the theme / image / sound of early Gaga, much like the other two songs here.

The title song from Gaga's debut,

catwalks its way into the top 30. One of the first tracks written for the album, and of course the song that tied it all together, it manages to be one of the few album tracks that still makes me JAM right now. It's pretty apt that this song concludes this little FAME-centric section, with some of Gaga's most iconic early tracks.

Oh and some fairly big ones could be about to drop very soon. Ooo...

'The Fame' and 'Beautiful, Dirty, Rich' are both songs I really liked when The Fame was initially released, but nowadays I'm not so fussed over and next to never listen to.

Same goes with most of the album tracks to be honest. I'll only really listen to 'Eh Eh', 'Boys Boys Boys' and 'Starstruck' out of choice these days.

Not big loss so far, maybe Teeth and VideoPhone should be a bit higher idk. Nice to see that I Like It Rough is still to come!

The earliest song to be in included in this countdown, and what a song. It's testament to the brilliance of

that it almost managed to pip a bonafide Gaga single in this rate, but alas it just falls short. Still a comfortable top 30 placing is worth celebrating, because this is Gaga, or rather Stefani at her most raw and passionate. A beautiful gem for its simplicity, inspired by the victims of 2005's Hurricane Katrina, it's heartfelt, personal and inspirational. Check it out if you haven't heard it already. Haus recommends.

OOOPS. The first official single of the countdown crashes out in a rather lowly 25th position. Not quite sure what she was thinking releasing this at the time, and it seems you largely agree.

was performed on tour long before it got released on BTW, and though it got fan recognition this way, i'm pretty sure 90% of them retched at the thought of it being released over the many other album highlights. Written for now ex-Lüc Carl (ooops again), the song is quite the powerhouse, and climaxes into something quite special. The music video was just as random. With some scenes possibly included from the rejected video shoot for The Edge of Glory, it's a mishap / mismatch collage of all things gaga, with highlights including "that crop-run sequence" and the mermaid-in-a-bath spectacular. The best thing about the whole You and I campaign? Jo Calderone. DONE.

You spoke to soon Nick. But rejoice! Top 25 for this, (wait for it lewwww) saucy-salmon of a song is a YES all round.

has always been a favourite off the debut for me; i even conceptualised a video for it during my lonely 2009 days! The beat is slick, the lyrics a treat, and Gaga's vocals just oooze sex appeal. AND REMEMBER you can have just as much fun alone in your bedroom with a pack of tissues, than with any man. True fact.

'I Like It Rough' is album filler IMO, 'Yoü and I' is also her worst single to date but I would've appreciated it more if it stayed as just an album track.

#24 is v. good (especially when you see what else is to come... BUILDING THE HYPE).

And You and I definitely sticks out as the weakest-link amongst her singles (still love it of course, but yeah...)

I LOVE Yoü and I, it's not one of her best singles but it certainly isn't the worst (Just Dance/LoveGame are probably her weakest). The video is easily up there as one of her best for me;

1) Judas

2) Yoü and I

3) Bad Romance

I'm glad she released it as a single tbh as it shown the general public a different side to her. It maybe appealed more to an older audience rather than her usual hence why it undeservedly bombed.

You And I really is brilliant. I feel as if it's very underrated as well.

I'm gonna drink my tears tonight, I'm gonna drink my tears and cry

| 23 // Speechless // The Fame Monster // 6.71

Kicking off this diverse section, is Gaga channeling her inner Queen / David Bowie, in the monster ballad

. Written about her father whilst she pleaded with him to undergo heart surgery in 2009 (which he subsequently did: "And after long hours, and lots of tears, they healed his broken heart, and mine."), the song was included on the album to represent her own "Fear of the Death Monster". It's an anthemic piece amongst a heap of more pumped-up songs, and one that unfortunately never saw the light of day as a single, despite being Gaga's favourite song off the album.

Another of the "forgotten Fame tracks", though much less so (mainly because of that cameo in the Telephone music video),

is yet another RedOne collab highlight for the Lady. Written in response to being dropped by Def-Jam records, and basically an FU to them, it's also a fierce RnB girl-knows-what-she-wants rouser.

A few months before anyone had even heard Born This Way, Gaga teased her fans on the catwalk, strutting her stuff to a remixed version of one of the album's tracks. From that moment, it was clear that she was going to deliver something quite special with

, and she did NOT disappoint. Absolute filth, but all the more wonderful for it, this is most definitely how Marilyn Monroe felt. And that MACHO voice heard throughout is actually Gaga's bodyguard lending his vocals. Who knew!?
