I still love 'LoveGame', although it hasn't stood the test of time as much as some of her other tracks from that era.

'Fashion' is great and should've been used for something, I love the way it was used in Confessions Of A Shopaholic.

Oh, I was hoping Heavy Metal Lover and Bloody Mary would be a lot higher. :( They're the best tracks on BTW!

I'd also like to echo the hate for Hair. Diabolical song.

Rocking a Meat Dress and carrying one of her NINE VMA awards, Gaga entered onto the stage, and proudly announced the title of her upcoming album, which would also go on to be the name of its lead single. Not one to hype her own material(!) and with the lyrics already leaked, fans were anxious to hear what the Lady had in store for her big comeback, and with such a build up it was inevitable that some sort of backlash would arise. And on the morning of 11/02/11, love it or hate it, the world listened on as

spread. The Madge Express Yourself comparisons quickly flooded the internet (rightfully so, i mean the two are EXTREMELY interchangeable), and for some the mission was aborted there and then. For others, the track became an instant anthem of self-love and support, and sure enough Gaga continued the message with her dark-filmic inspired video to hammer in the message of loving yourself and others.

The song itself broke records left-right-and-centre as it ascended to #1 on iTunes in EVERY country that used the chart, as well as peaking very high officially across the globe (including the US where it stayed atop the peak for weeks on end as well as marking the 1000th song to climb to the top on the Billboard Hot 100). The line that she sung at the VMAs led fans to believe it would be a much calmer affair, but in true Gaga fashion she let's rip with a monstrous beat, frantic vocals and a bridge that has the gays crying from their ducts whenever they hear it (just me then?).

Either i'm missing something here, or you guys just have a lot of love for the Mexican / mariachi-hyped tones of

. I mean it's bloomin' brilliant, but looking at some of the songs it's managed to beat, i'm still quite shocked. Being one of the least offensive songs of the album, it didn't really attract much hate, and so with that indifference it has stormed into your top 15, reaching a very respectable peak. The song itself is incredibly fun and manic, whilst at the same time channeling a sense of despair & angst, and remains one of Gaga's most unique sounding songs. With a killer team of Fernando Garibay and White Shadow, they manage to capture the elusive sounds of being on the run and fighting to the death spectacularly, with Gaga's roaring vocals attacking throughout the whole thing.

I love Born This Way because it's a fun pop song, even though it might have damaged her career. Whoops.
Americano is one of the few salvageable album tracks on Born This Way. And it's pretty amazing too. Very happy it's so high.

LoveGame is just fun filth, I still love it.

Born This Way was possibly one of the best pop songs of the year. Catchy, harmless fun, with a good beat, what's not to like. Having said that I wouldn't say it's one of her best singles, she's certainly done better.

I initially loved Americano, but recently it's got a little irritating.

Straight from the grimy corners of Berlin comes Gaga's most explosive song off Born This Way. Abrasive, in-your-face and oh so FIERCE,

is a complete treat. Lyrically it merges faux-German-gibberish with an empowering, take no bullshit chorus that is pretty much unrivaled on the album. As fans pined that it got the single treatment, Gaga instead used the song to promote her FAME fragrance, partly treating the world to its wonder. The ten minute DJ White Shadow "Mugler" remix is a real highlight of the album's Special Edition, and was used months before its release to tease fans into what was to come in the near future. Loud and out-there to this day, Scheiße is still the shit.

The second single from Gaga's latest album narrowly misses out on a Top 10 position, as

crashes out. Riding along the Bad Romance wave, it didn't manage to capture the world in quite the same way, performing mediocrely worldwide. The song is essentially about falling in love with the wrong type of person, and though it doesn't actually appear offensive to these ears, sure enough it attracted a fair amount of attention from religious circles for its biblical references and general loving of the dark side. The song is a fist-pumping affair, with some cleverly poised verses sandwiching what is ultimately one of her weakest choruses . It tries to be huge and momentous with its erratic beat, and for the most part manages it (that breakdown is just LIFE even to this day). The Fellini inspired music video perfectly captures the image of the song, and remains one of her strongest, most cohesive projects yet - it was also the first music video that she herself directed as she took yet more control of the mothership vehicle.

Scheiße is one of my all time favourite songs. Easily the best thing she's ever done, and if she tops it on ARTPOP I'll be very surprised. It should've been the third single after Born This Way and Marry The Night.

From her best song, to her best video. It did deserve to be massive.

Both should've finished Top 5 here.

Looking back, I should have given Scheiße a 10. :(

HIGH FIVE CHRIS. Judas physically DESTROYS my soul. :puke:

'Scheiße' is great, sounds fantastic on a night out too (only ever heard in gay bars/clubs of course).

I like 'Judas', it's not her best single but it trumped 'Born This Way' by far.

Great to see Monster in top 10 :D also woo for Americano, Scheiße and Marry The Night beating Born This Way :D
But where's the 10th song?
  • Author

That's the top 10 in NO PARTICULAR ORDER. Building the hype like only Gaga can right there.

Feel free to predict the order of the top 10 / what you'd like to see.

Big YES at "Monster" being the highest non-single! :D I'm pleased that "Born This Way" and "Judas" missed the top ten too; the latter has grown on me (I like the chorus but not the bridge or whatever you want to call the 'Judaaaaaaaaaaah' chant). My preference for the top ten would be:

1. "Bad Romance

--

10. "Dance In The Dark"

The rest I'm not bothered about; all of them apart from my #10 are excellent *.*

I swear to God that I would never in a million years have hired Iz or Johnkm as gmods if I knew they both hated Scheiße so much.
