It's no Love Song, King of Anything or Uncharted, but it's a fantastic song nonetheless! SO ready for a new Sara album, I loved Little Voice and Kaleidoscope Heart was even BETTER.

I loved Little Voice and Kaleidoscope Heart was even BETTER.

It wasn't. It was very good though. Love Song remains one of my all time favourite songs (11th when I last compiled said list!) and hence everything since has seemed a bit underwhelming in comparison but Brave is decent and I grew to really love King Of Anything and a few of the other songs from the last era.

Oh it really was for me! Little Voice was great but Kaleidoscope Heart had me hooked, the first half of the album was pretty much perfect.

I agree - Kaleidoscope Heart for me was A LOT better than her debut. There is not a song that I don't love - The Light, Basket Case, Breathe Again, Blue Bird are just amazing. And also, listening to Send Me The Moon - I don't get why this song wasn't picked for Dear John movie because it fits perfectly.

But she also has grown as an artist with the EP - Once Upon Another Time gives me goosebumps and Lie To Me is such a fresh and different song from all the others she recorded before. I loved so hard when I first heard Sweet As Whole - only her can write such a hilarious song but also sound amazing while singing it :D

About Brave - LOVE IT - it is so positive, upbeat and lyrics are great.

This is why I love her - she always puts a great message inside the song. With this song, she can help a lot of shy people with lack of confidence.

With such a positive, meaningful song she should be no.1 in the charts, but we all know that it is not going to happen because people like 1D, Bieber and Will.I.Am rule the charts.

Here is Sara deciding on the album title:

!

She is so hilarious, I laughed a lot :D

But the end result is beautiful, here is the quote of Blessed Unrest:

There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and there is only one of you in all time. This expression is unique, and if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium; and be lost. The world will not have it.

It is not your business to determine how good it is, not how it compares with other expression. It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open. You have to keep open and aware directly to the urges that motivate you. Keep the channel open.

No artist is pleased. There is no satisfaction whatever at any time. There is only a queer, divine dissatisfaction, a blessed unrest that keeps us marching and makes us more alive than the others.

I'm with Rich here, "Little Voice" is leagues ahead of "Kaleidoscope Heart". There's not a single song I don't LOVE on "Little Voice", it'd probably be in my top 10/20 albums of all time. The highlights are "Fairytale" and "Love Song" and beyond that it's near impossible to rank.

That's not to say "Kaleidoscope Heart" was bad, it just didn't have the same sparkle. My highlights were "King Of Anything", "Gonna Get Over You", "Let The Rain", "Breathe Again", "Uncharted" and "Say You're Sorry". I don't really listen to the rest.

I've been quite rubbish at following her, I missed her EP, but I listened to this yesterday and I really like it. Again, she hasn't really lived up to her "Little Voice" stuff, but I could listen to her sing the dictionary and enjoy her voice.

My album rates:

Don't get me wrong, still a very strong album but definitely packs more filler imo. Also, I forgot about the gorgeous Love Is Christmas, which imo is the second best thing she's ever done. Best original Xmas song in years.

I agree, Love Is Christmas is so beautiful and meaningful. She described what is the true meaning of Christmas in that song.

I really think this new song Brave is a step forward in her career - it is still something familiar, but also a little different thanks to upbeat anthemic melody.

I think Uncharted is my favourite alongside Love Song. Actually, I really love the reason she wrote love song :D Anyhow, Brave is actually quite good

This lovely song is top 10 on US iTunes (she's another one who has a pretty big fanbase in the US, that seems to get under estimated.

Looking forward to a new album from her!

I really like this :) Lovely song! And is that a lyric video or the actual video? looool

Sara performs new song called Manhattan on her Brave tour. I think it is such a beautiful ballad, I hope this song will be on her album.

I tried to embed a Youtube video but I just can't, I don't know what I am doing wrong, sorry :)

The (pretty good) video!

Really liking this song a lot more than I remember liking. It's one of those I forget how much I like it, until I listen to it. Her best since 'Love Song' for me!

People who pre-ordered the album got a exclusive new song called Root Down.

I love it - it is very positive once again and the melody is so fun and catchy. I think I'm going to love the 3rd album very very much!

I've just listened to this song (after reading the comparisons to Katy's new single) and it is really good! Very glad that she went top 10 on iTunes when it was first released! :cheer:
I find the entire album album brilliant, definitely her best so far! :)
It really is quite a special album, SUCH an improvement on the last one and a challenger for my favourite album of 2013. I took a long time to come around to Brave but now I'm obsessed, and yes Roar is a shameless rip-off!

I just listened to Katy's song and it is a total rip-off! <_< She even admitted on Twitter on May how she adores Sara's song..

But this is definitely a weaker version, Katy isn't even close to Sara's great lyrics.

I obviously see how they're similar, it's undeniable, but I really don't find it a complete rip-off at all. The progression is different, the melody in Katy's vocals is different - the production is obviously very similar though.
