Posted April 20, 201312 yr I've searched all the forums for a topic about this but I haven't found one so I'm sorry if there is already one around somewhere! Anyway, a few weeks ago Nelly released the first single 'Hey Porsche' from his upcoming 7th studio album 'M.O.'. I wasn't sure which genre forum it should go in, but Wikipedia says its pop so I've put it in here. After initially not liking this track at all, I've really begun to love this thanks to the recent good weather! I haven't been able to get the chorus out of my for the last few days! April 20, 201312 yr This is really shit and I know that but it's way too catchy and I keep coming back to it!
April 20, 201312 yr It's nice enough, but I think Nelly should've gone a bit more urban than doing a Whistle remake. It hasn't gone top 10 in my personal chart yet Whistle was a #1 for me which suggests what is better of the two.
April 20, 201312 yr I love this song! It is ridiculously shit in its lyrics and how generic it is but it is such a guilty pleasure.
April 20, 201312 yr To me the backing track sounds identical to '22'. Edited April 20, 201312 yr by Silver Rocket
April 20, 201312 yr I should hate it but it's actually AMAZING. Shouldn't this thread go into the R&B forum though?
April 20, 201312 yr Author I should hate it but it's actually AMAZING. Shouldn't this thread go into the R&B forum though? As I said in the original post, I wasn't completely sure! But Wikipedia says pop so I've gone with that! :kink:
April 21, 201312 yr If his album is more like his past stuff, I'm sure a topic can be created there for that. But 'Hey Porsche' is definitely NOT R&B or Hip Hop. I love Nelly and I am always intrigued to see what he comes up with. I was initially so disappointed in this as I expected much more from him. But it is too catchy to deny it's a good pop song.
April 22, 201312 yr As I said in the original post, I wasn't completely sure! But Wikipedia says pop so I've gone with that! Who actually believes most of the "facts" on Wikipedia?
April 22, 201312 yr Author Who actually believes most of the "facts" on Wikipedia? Well its the best source I know of to find genres, I'm well aware it is just an opinion though! But as Jonjo says above, this is definitely not an R&B or Hip-hop song.
