With the Gabrielle Aplin, Justice Collective and James Arthur dirges? The most derivative run of number ones at least.

And I liked all of them. Problem?

Although I didn't like Little Things at all. :(

Anyway 1990 is good:

641 Sinead O'Connor Nothing Compares 2 U (4 weeks)

642 Beats International featuring Lindy Layton Dub Be Good To Me (4 weeks)

643 Snap The Power (2 weeks)

644 Madonna Vogue (4 weeks)

645 Adamski Killer (4 weeks)

646 Englandneworder World In Motion (2 weeks)

Oh yeah, I'm including "World In Motion". John Barnes rap - hell YES.

This is one of my favourite runs too :D Would happily listen to this run from my favourite musical year ever (1999) too:

813 The Offspring Pretty Fly (For A White Guy)

814 Armand Van Helden You Don't Know Me

815 Blondie Maria

816 Lenny Kravitz Fly Away

817 Britney Spears Baby One More Time

818 Boyzone When The Going Gets Tough

819 B*witched Blame It On The Weatherman

820 Mr Oizo Flat Beat

...and then a bit later:

825 Shanks & Bigfoot Sweet Like Chocolate

826 Baz Luhrmann Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen)

827 S Club 7 Bring It All Back

828 The Vengaboys Boom Boom Boom Boom

829 A.T.B. 9pm (Till I Come)

830 Ricky Martin Livin' La Vida Loca

Some may disagree, but to me that was an incredible year

There's probably a few, but not many runs that were all solid 9/10 out of 10 singles, this run from 1995 is probably my favourite though:

Take That - Back For Good

Oasis - Some Might Say

Livin' Joy - Dreamer

^all songs I own and in a world where Robson & Jerome didn't exist, Common People could've followed :( that would've definitely made it my favourite run ever.

The Importance of Being Idle>DARE from 2005 could've been even more amazing if Fix You had made number 1 the week after instead of the Pussycat Dolls. As it stands, this great run is disrupted by them & the Sugababes (although I did really like that at the time) before resuming nicely with the Arctic Monkeys.

This one from 1979 as well, amongst others, classic year for number 1s:

Village People "Y.M.C.A."

Ian Dury and The Blockheads "Hit Me with Your Rhythm Stick"

Blondie "Heart of Glass"

Bee Gees "Tragedy"

Edited by Chez Wombat

2000

Britney Spears - Oops I Did It Again

Madison Avenue - Dont Call Me Baby

Billie Piper - Day & Night

Sonique - It Feels So Good

Black Legend - You See The Trouble With Me

Kylie - Spinning Around

Eminem - The Real Slim Shady

The Corrs - Breathless

Ronan - Life Is A Rollercoaster

all great number one hits imo.

1999

Vengaboys - Boom Boom Boom Boom

ATB - 9PM

Ricky Martin - Livin La Vida Loca

also

Offspring - Pretty Fly

Armand Van Helden - You Dont Know Me

Blondie - Maria

1992

Tasmin Archer - Sleeping Satellite

Boyz II Men - End Of The Road

Charles & Eddie - Would I Lie To You

Agree 1999 best year for music I think..so many classics from that year..and huge hits from britney,Christina, westlife etc-chart debuts that turnrdbinto huge stars..such a momentous year..songs everyone still remembers 14 years later...who agrees?

2008 was a fairly flawless year in my opinion. Really liked and still like all of these.

Estelle featuring Kanye West "American Boy"

Madonna featuring Justin Timberlake and Timbaland "4 Minutes"

The Ting Tings "That's Not My Name"

Rihanna "Take a Bow"

Mint Royale "Singin' in the Rain"

Coldplay "Viva la Vida"

Ne-Yo "Closer"

Dizzee Rascal featuring Calvin Harris and Chrome "Dance Wiv Me"

Kid Rock "All Summer Long"

Katy Perry "I Kissed a Girl"

Kings of Leon "Sex on Fire"

Pink "So What"

then to a lesser extent

Girls Aloud "The Promise"

Turns out the Saturdays got #1 between "Mirrors" and "Need U (100%)" - typical, a steaming TURD of a song in a run of actually quite decent #1 hits. URGH.

Are you implying PJ & Duncan was part of said decent run? :D

If you count NEW #1s only then Brimful of Asha / Frozen / It's Like That is pretty hard to beat.

If you don't then it's probably Professional Widow / Your Woman / Beetlebum at the beginning of 1997.

How about

Dec 79 - Pink Floyd - Another Brick in the Wall (Part 1)

Jan 80 - The Pretenders - Brass in Pocket

Jan 80 - The Specials - The Special AKA Live!

Feb 82 - Kraftwerk - Computer Love - The Model

Feb 82 - The Jam - Town Called Malice - Precious

Mar 82 - Tight Fit - The Lion Sleeps Tonight

Dec 86 - Europe - The Final Countdown

Dec 86 - Housemartins - Caravan of Love

Dec 86 - Jackie Wilson - Reet Petite

It's Like That is pretty awful :(

Professional Widow is only enjoyable (for me) because of who it is.

early 1997 had some amazing stuff at number 1.

Take out Oasis and Pussycat Dolls and you have a deal.

The rare occasion where my personal chart #1s mirrored the UK charts for more than 3 songs:

Dizzee Rascal featuring Calvin Harris and Chrome "Dance Wiv Me"

Kid Rock "All Summer Long"

Katy Perry "I Kissed a Girl"

Kings of Leon "Sex on Fire"

Pink "So What"

Only difference being I had Eric Prydz 'Pjanoo' #1 between Katy Perry and Kings Of Leon but whilst the charts were slow in 2008, the quality of chart toppers were much better than it could've been ('When I Grow Up', 'The Shock Of The Lightning, Don't Call This Love, etc... **shudders** )

Scanning through the list, there's not even many where I like all three songs. But some of the best ones:

Promises, Don't Go and Heart Skips a Beat in 2011 (Buzzjack's favourite year!). I liked Swagger Jagger and Stay Awake too, so it could be a chain of 5.

Number 1, Boom Boom Pow and Bonkers in 2009 as well was pretty epic.

Mercy, American Boy and 4 Minutes in 2008!!

Babycakes, These Words and My Place in 2004 is pretty good.

Dirrty, If You're Not the One and Lose Yourself in 2002 (more for the first and last song).
