Posted May 3, 201312 yr Guy Sigsworth, the guy who wrote What It Feels Like For A Girl for Madonna and produced some of the best moments by Bjork, Alanis...and Britney...was always a strange choice to produce an album by Alison Moyet. The link below takes you to the fruits of their collaboration 'the minutes' streamed in full... and it's a masterpiece, let's be honest. I'm a fan of Moyet's voice but often not her material - but on 'the minutes' she produces the best material of her whole career - trip hop, electro, dubstep.... and every one with a killer hook. I'm stunned.... it's brilliant.... http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2013/05/03..._n_3206999.html
May 4, 201312 yr ive got my tickets for Bournemouth gig, hopefully that should mean it'll be a cracker concert:)
May 7, 201312 yr I watched her on The One Show promoting this new album. I then dug out some of her older material and I'd forgotten just how good Situation by Yazoo is! Edited May 7, 201312 yr by fiesta
May 7, 201312 yr I bought this and had a quick listen last night, it did sound really quite good - especially for someone who's been making music for as long as Moyet has. I'm glad she's taken to a new sound so successfully.
May 8, 201312 yr ive got my tickets for Bournemouth gig, hopefully that should mean it'll be a cracker concert:) At the prices they're charging I hope it is a cracker. I'll have to decide whether to go myself.
May 8, 201312 yr At the prices they're charging I hope it is a cracker. I'll have to decide whether to go myself. Ticket prices do seem to have crept way up for older acts the last few years...! I make allowances for anyone that plays local gigs cos the cost of going to London plus London prices plus rip-off "block-buy" prices means I virtually never see the biggest acts these days. 20 years ago you could get tickets to wembley at face value, nowadays you have to pay some £%$& two or three times face value for gigs like Fleetwood Mac. It's a real gripe of mine. I couldnt get decent tickets at the O2 for Pet Shop Boys a few years back so I went to Barcelona, they were half the price, I stood at the front in a beautiful outdoor courtyard, the place was packed/full with a younger audience than in the UK (presumably the prices helping) and you could only collect tickets on the day by showing a credit card and passport/ID. Fab! No tout rip-offs....
May 9, 201312 yr Author She's a rarity in that she's even better live than on record. I bought cardiff tickets and saw the Bush Hall gig two weeks ago with Guy Sigsworth. The songwriting on this album is truly brilliant. They almost all sound like classic singles.
May 12, 201312 yr Author Shame people seem more concerned with her weight than how much of a masterpiece this album is :(
May 12, 201312 yr That's Suedehead for you, always been so obsessed with image over musical content. :( :( :(

May 13, 201312 yr :o In Suedy's defence, I brought it up first and he just responded to me. I honestly did not recognise her!!!!
May 13, 201312 yr She certainly used to be a big lass That girl singer on BGT on Sat. reminded me of her, very big but a big voice too.
May 28, 201312 yr I've only just got my copy in the last week as it took a while to ship from the UK (and for some reason ended up with two copies?!) but on the whole I found the new sound very welcome. The first couple of tracks are cracking, but I really cannot get along with When I Was Your Girl. I went from loving the song to disliking it within a few listens. :( Overall I give it an 8 out of 10.
September 10, 201311 yr Author Agreed, Smurfie - When I Was Your Girl is very meh.... baffling they chose probably the weakest track as a single. Her tour kicks off in Berlin soon, and she's taking it to America as well - great that this album has really rejuvenated the career of one of our best artists. I just wish people would recognise her songwriting and lyrics as m,uch as her voice.... she's a superb writer. The album is still holding up for me... Horizon Flame is just jaw-droppingly great, as is Apple Kisses, Right as Rain and All Signs of Life.
