can I just say summat.

I LOVE LOREEN! I hope she gets a boost come Euro, when is that btw?

I HATE STOOSHIT. Please don't let them sell more than WAU or ill be heartbroken. They are so common.

I MISS THE 00s today. I just watched VB/DB getting interviewed by Ali G - OH WHY can't it be 1996 to 2002 again! I'm going to go and listen to 'A Mind Of Its Own' and 'I Turn To You' now, and count down the days till I return to the UK. Peace out.

How is your last point relevant to the iTunes Chart at all?

And I think you'd have to be bonkers to think that Slip will sell more than What About Us.

Anyway, COME ON DEMI.

Wow, Birdy getting a boost from a TV show! :o

At least it wasn't Skinny Love this time... :P

Oh GO AWAY Birdy :/ ( to #31)

Shouldn't that read 'Fly away Birdy'... :)

Apparently Danny explicitly referred to it as 'People Help The People by Birdy' on the show :manson:

(I haven't actually watched it so that might not be true but it wouldn't surprise me).

Isn't it usual to refer to the best-known version of a song, even if it isn't the original?

If that awful Tich song goes top 20 I will kill someone. Specifically Ryan.

What a surprise - yet another song I didn't know even existed until it charts...

Yes, I know it was on the new release schedule, but if they're a new uncharted artist, I have no way of telling if they're a T40 contender, or just another of the random names on that are never heard from again.

Not bad song though.

I don't get all the Demi and Tich hate, I mean we have had worse songs in the top 20 recently
Huge start for the big three pop releases, Slip and Dumb are both quite good and Heart Attack is great. Not sure that the first two will have anything more than flash in the pan chart runs mind...
Stooshe  17

Glad to see that it's going up :)

New Releases:

8. Demi Lovato - Heart Attack

17. Stooshe - Slip

23. Tich - Dumb

66. Wretch 32 - Blackout (feat. Shakka)

91. Wretch 32 - Blackout (feat. Shakka)

107. Sub Focus - Endorphins (feat. Alex Clare)

934. Sub Focus - Endorphins (feat. Alex Clare) [sub Focus vs Fred V & Grafix Remix]

The Voice:

27. Birdy - People Help the People

28. James Morrison - I Won't Let You Go

94. Stevie Wonder - Do I Do

237. Katy Perry - E.T.

435. Katy Perry - E.T. (feat. Kanye West)

573. CeCe Peniston - Finally

595. U2 & B.B. King - When Love Comes to Town

623. CeCe Peniston - Finally

:manson: at James Morrison getting a boost and Tich somehow doing well without any airplay. Also sad to see Demi already top 10 but it was expected.

Is it just me, the Demi Lovato track sounds as if a cat is wailing, surprised its top 10 on the iTunes chart already

I don't hear the wails myself

I think it is a thoroughly good track, it has surprised me as I wasn't expecting much

'Blackout' doing very well so far! Hope it can go top 5.

Demi not even climbing a single place in the last ~9 hours - that seems pretty poor even going through the night.

I had a gut feeling Stooshe would be a potential top 5 hit so if it keeps climbing it's very likely to get there. Demi was always going to smash but even I'm surprised at how well Tich has taken off - even with the pre-orders. I wouldn't have predicted 'Dumb' to go top 10 but at this rate it could well get there.

Just think once 'Blurred Lines' is released, it'll probably shoot to no. 1 on iTunes if Demi can get to no. 8 so quickly.

I think Slip from StooShe sounds very dated, its got that Motown vibe to it, The Supremes (ish) :D I must admit its catchy, its alright but nothing special.

'Heart Attack' is only going to appeal to people under 20 (most likely even 16) and I really don't see the song sticking around. Reckon it'll have a similar chart run to 'Alone Again' by Alyssa Reid.

...but then you could argue that 'Get Lucky' sounds very dated, but it's an incredible song. So it doesn't really matter? :D

Another thing I like the diversity of the singles chart at the moment, last week we had a couple of new dance tracks, this week we have 3 new Pop tracks and we had a few Indie tracks in the past few weeks, with retro acts thrown in the mix (PJ & Duncan :D ), I think its a big improvement on last year music wise.

I'm not completely jumping that huge Daft Punk bandwagon but to my ears 'Get Lucky' sounded really fresh!

And this week is full of major releases but NONE of them are good to me. The best is Wretch 32 and even that's not even a 7/10 material.

Also, according to kworb:

98 J Cole - Power Trip (feat. Miguel) 0.0253

99 Wretch 32 - Blackout (feat. Shakka) 0.0151

100 Wretch 32 - Blackout (feat. Shakka) 0.0109

#99 and #100 combined get you only to about #98. WEIRD.

That'll be because Daft Punk are still selling in large amounts. Just gone onto Kworb and noticed Passenger is back down to 0.5272. I'm now even more convinced that 'Get Lucky' will get another week at no. 1 - possibly with sales over 100k again too. :D
